1989 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary is up for auction

The year 1971 was a turning point in the development of the Italian car manufacturer Lamborghini, which then showed that it would be far ahead of the competition when it comes to design. Leading the way was the Lamborghini Countach, a car with a futuristic design. It was this model that served as the basis for marking the company’s 25th anniversary, so in 1988, the limited edition Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary arrived on the market. One of them, a 1989 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary, was owned by Rod Stewart and is now being offered at auction.

This exceptional example is finished in black, is in excellent condition and has only had three owners so far. It is equipped with carbon and Kevlar body panels, gradually inclined air intakes with longitudinal fins, an integrated rear bumper, and revisions to the front fascia, engine cover, sills, scissor doors, NACA ducts blended from the doors to the quarter panels, straked brake vents , and pop-up headlights, V-shaped rear wing and front bumper (European-market). There is also fully independent suspension with coil springs and telescopic shock absorbers and four-wheel ventilated disc brakes.

Inside, the adjustable seats are upholstered in black leather that also covers the dashboard, door panels and center console. Additional equipment includes electronic climate control, an Alpine CD stereo, power windows, and a gated shifter. The clock shows 11,692 kilometers (7,300 miles).

Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary is powered by a 5.2L V12 engine with 449 hp (334 kW) and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque. It was possibly the fastest variant of the Lamborghini Countach, accelerating to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds with a top speed of 183 mph (295 km/h). Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a ZF 5-speed manual transmission. It sits on multi-piece 15″ OZ Racing wheels wrapped in 225/50ZR15 front and 345/35ZR15 rear Pirelli P Zero Asimetrico tires.

The car has a clean Carfax report that shows no accidents or other damage. It comes with factory books, tools, a copy of the previous California title in Rod Stewart’s name, service records, and a clean Montana title in the name of the seller’s LLC.

The auction ends on March 14th and the current highest bid is $326,000 USD.

2003 Ferrari Enzo is for sale

At the 2002 Paris Motor Show Ferrari unveiled the successor to the 288 GTO, F40 and F50, the Ferrari Enzo. The plan was to produce only 399 examples with the majority finished in Roso Corssa, Giallo Modena, Nero Pastello and Rosso Scuderia. However, only nine cars were finished in the Argento Nürburgring 101/C color, and one of them, the 2003 Ferrari Enzo is for sale.

This timeless car was delivered new to Japan and was never registered for the road. With almost intact factory protective packaging (plastic on the door sills, tape wrapped around the ignition key, and even plastic covering on the brake and gas pedals), it is an ideal opportunity for collectors.

It is equipped with a carbon fiber and aluminum chassis, carbon composite body panels by Ken Okuyama and carbon ceramic disc brakes. A rare and desirable hypercar that would take a place in any collection and worthy of Enzo Ferrari’s name.

Ferrari Enzo is powered by a 6.0-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine with 651 hp (485 kW) and 485 lb-ft (657 Nm) of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed ‘F1’ Graziano automated manual gearbox. It reaches 60 mph in 3.14 seconds with a top speed of 221 mph (355 km/h). Since it has not been used on the road, it has only 227 kilometers (141 miles) on the odometer.

The car comes with original owner’s manuals, car cover, spare key (still enclosed in a Ziploc bag alongside the manuals) and factory three-piece fitted luggage set which has never been unwrapped.

The auction will take place 15 – 17 March 2023. Offered without reserve.

1987 Ford RS500 Cosworth sold for £590,500

At the 1985 Geneva Motor Show Ford unveiled the Sierra RS Cosworth, which was produced in 5,545 units. Two years later Aston Martin Tickford was signed for the job of converting the 500 cars into RS500 Cosworth. One of them was sold at Silverstone Auctions for £590,500.

Compared to the standard RS Cosworth, the RS500 received a more powerful engine with a larger turbocharger and intercooler, a thicker block and a different set of nozzles, slightly different design and aerodynamic elements. The RS500 Cosworth is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 224 hp (167 kW) and 204 lb-ft (277 Nm) of torque.

There were many interested bidders, but the luckiest, or should we say, the most persistent, made the highest bid. The car was expected to fetch £180,000 but sold for more than three times that amount. As a reminder, in 1987 the car cost less than £20,000.

1987 Ford RS500 Cosworth is in outstanding and original condition. The clock shows 5,000 miles (just over 8,000 kilometers).
