2023 Peugeot Inception Concept

At this year’s CES, many car makers took the opportunity to present their new concepts and cars, such as the French manufacturer Peugeot, which premiered the Inception Concept. It is an electric car that will be the basis for future models whose arrival is expected at the beginning of 2025.

The car is based on Stellantis’ STLA Large platform, with a length of 5 meters and a height of 1.34 meters. One of the biggest features of Inception’s design is the glass, which has an area of as much as 7.25 square meters. Peugeot uses Narima glass, which has undergone a metal oxide treatment that was originally designed to coat the helmet visors for NASA astronauts. It gives the windows a yellow tint while maintaining their thermal qualities. This advanced technology will be used in cars from 2025 and it is part of the company’s long-term plan to become the leading electric brand by the end of the decade.

Inception features a next-generation i-Cockpit with a new Hypersquare control system that replaces mechanical controls with a drive-by-wire control system. The centerpiece of the technology is the rectangular steering wheel that we see in video games. Various vehicle controls such as climate and radio volume are accessible just by moving your thumb and keeping your hand on the steering wheel. Thanks to this, the cockpit is transformed from a space intended for the driver to a space oriented to comfort. So in the Inception Hypersquare, the steering wheel can be retracted, while the control panel can be hidden to create a more comfortable cabin. The car also has level 4 autonomous driving thanks to STLA AutoDrive technology.

It is powered by two electric motors with almost 680 hp, and has AWD. That’s enough power to reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in less than three seconds. It uses 800 Volt technology, has a large 100 kWh battery and offers a range of up to 800 kilometers with a single charge. Thanks to its induction charging system, the battery can be recharged to offer a new 150 km of range in just five minutes.

Volkswagen announced a new electric car

Recently published sales data showed that VW is the biggest car seller, and sales growth is expected in the coming year as well. This refers primarily to electric cars, whose demand is on the rise. Thus, Volkswagen will reveal a new fully electric car at the beginning of next year.

VW is still keeping the details under wraps, but will soon show a camouflaged version of the car and reveal its name. After that, at CES, it will allow guests to “experience a new step in Volkswagen’s journey towards electrification”. Some rumors say that it could be a model ID. Aero, whose concept was presented six months ago. It was the announcement of the first global electric sedan to be offered in China, Europe and the US.

For now, it is known that it is a medium-sized premium sedan based on the MEB platform. It will be equipped with a 77 kWh lithium-ion battery that provides a range of 385 miles (620 km). The concept features an aerodynamic design that enables a low drag coefficient of 0.23.

Volkswagen has not revealed many details about the new car. Some predict that it could be called the ID.7 and that it will retain the aerodynamic design with clean lines. In the interior, there will be a digital cluster and a large infotainment system. But these are just guesses. We will have more information at the premiere on January 3, 2023.

2023 Kia EV6 GT – The most powerful Kia ever produced

Since it hit the market in 2017, the Kia Stinger has seen several upgrades. However, the company announced the end of this model, making way for the all-electric EV6 GT, the most powerful vehicle Kia has ever produced.

Kia EV6 GT is powered by a front and rear electric motor with a total power of 576 hp (424 kW) and 545 lb-ft (740 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to all wheels via a 1-speed automatic transmission. It reaches 60 mph in 3.2 seconds with a top speed of 161 mph (259 km/h). This means that it is not only a more powerful but also a faster car than the Stinger. It is mounted on a set of 21-inch wheels.

The EV6 GT is built on Kia’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) designed for high electric vehicle power. With powerful motors on both axles and a long-range, 77.4 kWh battery, located under the flat floor of the cabin, the EV6 GT offers a spacious interior in the elegant form of a coupĂ©-inspired crossover. Its range on a single charge is up to 206 miles / 424 km (WLTP, combined), while its 800V charging technology allows it to charge the battery very quickly from 10 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes.

The car is already on sale and deliveries can be expected by the end of the year. The starting price of the Kia EV6 GT is $62,695 USD.
