The new DeLorean Alpha5 will be EV

The car company DMC decided to return the legendary car, but this time as EV. It is a modern Alpha5 model that still retains some features of the well-known design of its predecessor, the DMC-12, such as the door.

The car is painted in a combination of two colors, and the roof line is a reminder of the well-known model from the trilogy “Back to the Future”. It is equipped with thinner front and rear lights, a charging port located on the front left bumper, so there is no need to open the lid. There are also massive wheels.

Inside, the driver has at his disposal a touch screen, located on the center console, with all control buttons. There is also a complete digital cluster as well as a steering wheel with a flat bottom.

When it comes to powertrain, there is not much information. It is known to reach 62 mph in less than 4 seconds with a top speed of 150 mph (241 km / h). The engine is powered by a battery of over 100 kWh, which gives the car a range of more than 300 miles (483 km). All this comes as standard equipment.

The company announced that in the future we could expect a sports coupe with a V8 engine, an electric sedan and a hydrogen-powered SUV. Production of the Alpha5 will begin in 2024 and only 88 units will be produced.

Fisker PEAR comes earlier than expected

Two days ago, the owner of the American company Fisker, Henrik Fisker, announced on his Instagram profile the arrival of the new PEAR prototype. Thus, the inexpensive car will be presented earlier than expected.

“Foxconn being the world’s largest manufacturer, if there’s anyone who can truly go in and take a look and be innovative (in auto manufacturing) it’s probably them,” said Fisker Chairman and CEO Henrik Fisker.

After the Fisker Ocean model, which should arrive on the market soon, the company announces the arrival of a compact crossover. As expected, the resemblance to the bigger and older sibling is obvious, and the previous teaser has already been unveiled as this model will be more similar to the classic compact.

For now, there is not much information about this model, and the company announced that it is a revolutionary car. Obviously, this applies primarily to design, as it is known that Fisker PEAR will only be offered as EV.

Production will begin in late 2023, and should hit the market in 2024. According to the company, this inexpensive EV will cost around 29,900 USD. 250,000 units will be produced for North America, Europe and the Chinese market.

Mercedes-Benz EQA more spacious and luxurious

German company Mercedes-Benz plans to develop a platform for small electric cars by 2025, which would provide a direct replacement for the hatchback A-Class and other electric vehicles in that class, and their currently smallest model Mercedes-Benz EQA crossover is electric a version of the GLA model with which it shares a platform.

It is one of four electric cars alongside the existing EQB, EQC and EQV, which uses a modified version of the existing platform designed for internal combustion engines. In this way, Mercedes will be competitive primarily with the Volkswagen ID.3 model, both in terms of passenger space and range with a single battery charge. The battery will be slightly smaller compared to other models, but it will still provide a range of quite a decent 425 km (264 miles). All thanks to a greater focus on weight reduction as well as improvements in aerodynamics.

Due to the absence of a central ridge and a thin battery, the new EQA will provide passengers with a more spacious and airy, but also more luxurious interior compared to entry-level models. Also, the car will be closer to the ground and thus avoid the crossover feature.
