DS E-Tense Performance

DS Automobiles has introduced the E-Tense Performance concept with Formula E powertrain. It is a fully electric supersport car with an impressive 815 hp and an incredible 8000 Nm.

Six years ago, DS Automobiles introduced the E-Tense concept, and now the E-Tense Performance super car has been built on that concept. It is powered by two electric motors mounted on both axles, the front 340 hp and the rear 476 hp, with a total power of 815 hp (600 kW) and an incredible 5,900 lb-ft (8000 Nm) of maximum torque. E Tense Performance is twice as powerful as E-Tense and has 16 times more torque.

Modern design and attractive appearance show how much the automotive industry has progressed in the last six years. “The idea is also to find solutions to lower costs, make them easier to manufacture and explore implementations in production models. The next generations of the E-TENSE range will benefit from these developments,” said Thomas Chevaucher, DS Performance Director.

DS Automobiles claims that Performance reaches 62 mph in about 2 seconds. It is equipped with an improved suspension, and the battery set is placed in a composite housing.

DS has not announced whether this concept will enter production, but it is known that testing of this model will affect the future cars of this French company.

The BMW iX Flow can change color

BMW has introduced the iX Flow concept equipped with technology that BMW has been developing for many years. It is a concept that uses E Ink technology that allows it to change body color.

The car is wrapped in foil containing millions of E Ink microcapsules. Each capsule is filled with negatively charged white pigments and positively charged black pigments. The electric field causes white or black pigments to accumulate on the surface of the microcapsules.

BMW points out that changing the color of the car can help warm up or cool the interior of the car depending on the season. Changing the color from gray to white may not seem like a big achievement, but it is very useful. The reflection of the sun’s rays during the summer with the white color of the exterior helps with cooling, while the absorption of heat in the winter with the gray color of the body reduces the need for heating.

Whether this technology will really be used in mass-produced cars remains to be seen.

Concept Zero Two as a fusion of Porsche 911 and Chevrolet Corvette

Automotive concept artist / designer Al Yasid (@yasiddesign), created the unique design Concept Zero Two. It is a combination of Porsche 911 and Chevrolet Corvette designs.

The front end is entirely Porsche. From the headlights, the slightly longer hood with the Porsche inscription, as well as the wheel arches, everything resembles a Porsche 911. Viewed from the side, from the front windshield to the back, we can see lines pointing to the Corvette. The rear of the Concept Zero Two features wide wheel arches, a glass engine cover, a light bar that extends the entire length of the rear, as well as a bare section around the taillights and two exhaust pipes.

No matter how amazing this may seem, it’s just the imagination of a design enthusiast, not something we might be seeing on the roads anytime soon. Or maybe not ?!
