Ford is considering a road-legal Mustang GT3

Ford recently announced that after 58 years of racing experience, it will take its Mustang racing car to the next level with the new Mustang GT3. Ford worked on this car with M-Sport, and the owner, Malcolm Wilson, did not hide his enthusiasm for this cooperation.

The car will make its debut in the 2024 season, and news is coming from the company that will delight all Ford Mustang fans. According to Chief Executive Officer of Ford Jim Farley, Ford is considering production of a road-legal Mustang GT3. This could be a response to competitors who have been offering their racing cars as street legal for years.

Mustang GT3 will be based on the powerful Dark Horse and will be powered by a 5.0L Coyote V8 engine with 500 hp (368 kW) and 418 lb-ft (567 Nm) of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed TREMEC manual transmission.

Ford has also announced that it will refresh the Mustang GT4 for 2023 to continue the success story of this model. “We’ve had a lot of success both here and in Europe with the current Mustang GT4, and we look forward to being able to provide our customers with a brand new car for competition in the GT4 category starting next season,” said Mark Rushbrook .

Mustang Dark Horse with 500 HP

A few months ago, Ford unveiled the seventh generation of its legendary car, the Mustang Dark Horse, which will be offered in two body styles (Coupé and Cabrio). It is a car that brings over five decades of tradition. Now it is known how much power the sports car will have.

The new Mustang Dark Horse will be powered by a 5.0L Coyote V8 engine with 500 hp (368 kW) and 418 lb-ft (567 Nm) of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual or 10-speed automatic transmission. The start of sales is expected in the middle of next year.

In addition to the Dark Horse as the most powerful version, there is also a Mustang GT powered by a 5.0L Coyote V8 engine with 480 hp (353 kW), or 486 hp (357 kW) with an optional more open exhaust system. The more European-friendly upgraded 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder turbo gasoline engine with 315 hp (232 kW) and 350 lb-ft (475 Nm) of torque also remains on offer. The American car manufacturer promises excellent performance and lower fuel consumption.

“For decades, Mustang has competed against the most premium brands on the biggest world stages and won. We surprised everyone, and we’re going to surprise them again with a track-capable Mustang that puts a new level of performance, styling and American engineering in the hands of everyday customers who still want the thrill and excitement of a V8 sports car,” said Jim Farley, CEO of Ford Motor Company.

Also, the company announced that after 27 years, Ford is returning to the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2024 with a new GT3 model.

Ford Mustang shooting brake

After the recently introduced seventh generation of the legendary Mustang that brings what it has been known for for more than 5 decades, rumors have started about the design of the “Shooting brake” version of this car. This is unofficial, and the design was done by X-Tomi Design.

This is not the only project of this creative artist. Some of his latest projects are: Ford Mustang Pickup, Jeep Avenger Cabrio, Nissan X-Trail 3door, etc. But let’s go back to the “Shooting brake” version. Although we can’t see the entire design of the car, which certainly won’t delight everyone, let’s take a look at what it offers. The car has Racing Red body color. The front of the car is a standard Mustang design, while the rear features larger bumpers that match the dropping roof design, giving a more muscular look to the rear of the car. We can’t be sure if this project will ever come to life, as earlier this month we saw several sketches of a four-door sports sedan that Ford abruptly stopped talking about.

Recently unveiled Mustang Dark Horse will be offered in two body styles (Coupé and Cabrio). Both versions come with a lot of additional equipment (optional) and a lot of personalization options as well as a significantly changed interior design. This includes higher quality materials and fewer analogies. The old instrument panel has been replaced by an adaptive 12.4-inch display in combination with a high-resolution 13.2-inch display of the multimedia system.

Under the hood will be a 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine with 500 hp (368 kW). Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual or ten-speed automatic transmission. Ford has not yet announced technical data and performance.
