Porsche announces a new SUV model above the Cayenne

Porsche has announced the arrival of a new SUV model to be positioned above the Cayenne. According to Automotive News, Porsche informed dealers about this, and one of them revealed that the new model is a combination of crossover and sedan, with a design different from current Porsche SUV models.

Without enough information, because the vehicle is part of the Porsche Unseen program, where most remain just an idea. “We’re grateful for such creativity within our business, as we’re continuously exploring new opportunities and where we might compete in the future,” a Porsche spokesman said.

It is not known whether the three-row vehicle will use technologies from Audi’s Project Artemis, which has been announced for 2024. “We are very open in sharing ideas under an initiative — Porsche Unseen — the majority of which don’t make it beyond the ideas stage,” a Porsche spokesman said.

The vehicle is being developed under the code name “Landjet” and will be powered by a plug-in hybrid engine. For now, the electric version is not in the plans, but that does not mean that we may not see it in the future.

McLaren XE

This year has brought significant changes to McLaren. The first Arthur with a hybrid V6 engine, the abandonment of the Sport Series model, the entry of McLaren Racing into the Extreme E competition next year with the McLaren XE model, are just some of the news from McLaren.

McLaren posted a teaser on Instagram dated November 3, 2021. and the hashtag #McLarenXE, which definitely announces the arrival of a racing electric SUV for the Extreme E competition. The teaser hints at the look of the top half of the SUV, and muscular fenders are also visible, as well as cutouts for the headlights. The body points to a matte black color.

The bodywork obviously hides huge off-road tires. Also, McLaren has released a side profile teaser that reveals narrow windows as well as rear wheel arches that rise high. It is clear that the electric car has a large ground clearance. The racing XE could hint at what the future McLaren SUV will look like, provided it ever goes into series production.

There are no technical details yet. The Extreme E-SUV Odyssey 21 introduced in 2019 specifically for the Extreme E competition could be a guide to the new McLaren XE. The Odyssey 21 is powered by a 536 hp (400 kW) electric motor. Reaches 62 mph in 4.5 seconds.

The sustainability of electric vehicles is more than just switching to batteries

At the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26), Mercedes will use it to present the concept of an electric delivery van that improves the environment, the Mercedes Sustaineer model.

The van has particle filters in the front and in the chassis with which it purifies the air regardless of the speed of movement. It is equipped with ceramic-coated discs to reduce the amount of dust in the air and limit brake wear, as well as other environmentally friendly technology.

It is equipped with solar panels on the roof to reduce the need for plug-in charging and increase range, an energy-saving heating system, cameras that monitor road conditions, digital mirrors that offer a better view, as well as biologically active light that keeps the driver awake thanks to lighting similar to daylight.

Inside, the cabin compartment is made of natural straw. Mercedes has also reduced noise pollution thanks to quiet electric drive, low-resistance tires and muffled automatic doors.

The vehicle is currently in the form of a concept, whether it will enter the production phase is currently unknown.
