Lamborghini Temerario Debuts at Estoril with 920 CV Hybrid Power

In a symphony of speed, innovation, and Italian flair, Lamborghini has officially unleashed its next-generation High-Performance Electrified Vehicle: the Temerario. The global dynamic launch unfolded over 15 adrenaline-fueled days at Portugal’s historic Estoril Circuit, with the world’s media, Lamborghini dealers, and select customers among the first to take the wheel of the brand’s most technologically ambitious supercar to date.

Nestled in the heart of Sant’Agata Bolognese, the Temerario was conceived not just as a hybrid, but as a performance revolution. The new model introduces an entirely new 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine paired with three electric motors, combining to deliver a total output of 920 CV and 800 Nm of torque. The combustion engine alone generates 800 CV at a breathtaking 9,000–9,750 rpm and 730 Nm between 4,000–7,000 rpm—making it the first and only production supercar to reach a maximum 10,000 rpm.

At Estoril, Lamborghini’s ambitions were made tangible. Nearly 100 media representatives from around the globe joined the event to put the Temerario through its paces. They weren’t alone—dealers representing 56 markets, along with a handful of owners, also got their first taste of what Lamborghini calls “the ultimate fun-to-drive HPEV.”

Blistering Performance, Electrified Soul

On the 4.36-km track, the Temerario did more than just impress. With launch control activated, it rockets from 0–100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds, hits 200 km/h in under 7.3 seconds, and tops out at 343 km/h. Yet the numbers tell only part of the story.

Drivers explored 13 configurable driving modes designed to adapt the hybrid powertrain’s performance to every scenario—from urban cruising to full-attack circuit driving. On Estoril’s famed corners—where Ayrton Senna once tested the V12 F1-powered Lamborghini in 1993—the Temerario showcased new levels of grip and agility. Downforce at the rear is up 103% compared to its predecessor, with the Alleggerita version boasting a 158% increase. That Alleggerita package, available from launch, also trims more than 25 kg thanks to lightweight materials and delivers a 67% boost in aerodynamic load efficiency.

Advanced Tech, Inside and Out

The engineering doesn’t stop under the hood. Lamborghini has introduced a new eight-speed dual-clutch transmission that is both more compact and quicker-shifting. In full-electric mode, the Temerario cuts CO₂ emissions by up to 50% over its predecessor.

And thanks to Lamborghini Telemetry 2.0, drivers can analyze lap times, sector performance, and even overlay heart rate data from an Apple Watch to relive each drive with precision. The new infotainment experience blends cutting-edge data with Italian artistry.

Inside the reimagined cabin, occupants are treated to the acoustic signature of Sonus faber, with a bespoke 750W Class-D system. Tuned to the brand’s “Natural Sound” philosophy, it provides lifelike tonal accuracy across an extended frequency range from 30 Hz to 30 kHz—creating an immersive, fatigue-free soundstage befitting the Temerario’s expressive nature.

Customization also takes center stage. Lamborghini’s Ad Personam program allows buyers to choose from over 400 body colors and liveries, luxurious upholstery options in premium leather, and the ultralight Dinamica® microfiber Corsa-Tex fabric.

A New Era, On Every Surface

Partnering once again with Bridgestone, Lamborghini ensured the Temerario is ready for all terrains. The bespoke tyre range—developed using Bridgestone’s Virtual Tyre Development technology—includes the Potenza Sport for summer road performance, the Potenza Race for track domination, and the Blizzak LM005 for winter adaptability. All tyres are available in eight configurations across 20” and 21” dimensions, including a run-flat option.

Bridgestone now stands as Lamborghini’s exclusive tyre partner across its full range, including the Huracán STO, Tecnica, Revuelto, and now the Temerario.

Sustainable by Design

As part of Lamborghini’s growing commitment to environmental responsibility, the Temerario’s launch event was certified under ISO 20121 for sustainable event management. TÜV SÜD granted the certification, marking another milestone in Lamborghini’s plan to certify at least one key event annually under these standards—a commitment first launched in 2022.

Next-Gen Astra PHEV Cuts Emissions, Increases Range

In the ever-evolving world of compact vehicles, Opel has once again raised the bar with the latest iteration of its Astra and Astra Sports Tourer models. Combining sporty driving dynamics with everyday practicality, these models have long been favourites among European drivers. Now, with a new and improved plug-in hybrid drivetrain, the Astra family delivers even more efficiency, performance, and electric range—without touching the price tag.

Opel’s latest plug-in hybrid upgrade provides a compelling proposition for drivers who seek dynamic performance without committing to fully electric motoring. The new system delivers 144 kW (196 hp) of combined output—an 11 kW boost over the previous generation—and 360 Nm of torque. “For those who want to drive particularly dynamically and responsibly at the same time without already being fully electric, the new plug-in hybrid in the Astra and Astra Sports Tourer is exactly the right choice,” says Opel Germany Brand Head Patrick Dinger. “Customers have the freedom to always choose their preferred drive type.”

Under the hood, Opel has engineered a seamless synergy between a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine (110 kW / 150 hp) and a significantly more powerful electric motor (92 kW / 125 hp). This combination not only enhances responsiveness but also improves fuel economy. Official figures show energy consumption at just 12.7–13.1 kWh and 2.2–2.4 litres of fuel per 100 km—down from the previous model’s 16.3–16.5 kWh.

Key to this enhanced performance is Opel’s newly developed seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Replacing the older six-speed unit, the new gearbox has been refined for the increased torque and output of the plug-in hybrid, delivering smoother shifts and better driving comfort.

Starting prices remain attractive: €38,460 for the Astra Plug-in Hybrid and €39,960 for the estate-style Astra Sports Tourer, with both prices including VAT in Germany. In a market where electrified vehicles often come with a steep premium, Opel’s decision to keep pricing flat adds extra appeal.

Beyond performance and value, the Astra Plug-in Hybrid comes loaded with modern tech and comfort features. A standard ten-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital driver display, and keyless start ensure that connectivity and convenience match the advanced powertrain.

Tesla’s New Roadster Will Be “Next-Level” – and More Than Just a Car

Tesla’s long-awaited second-generation Roadster is officially in active development, with the automaker setting its sights not only on building the best electric performance car yet, but something “a little more than a car.” That’s according to Lars Moravy, Tesla’s Vice President of Vehicle Engineering, who confirmed the project is very much alive and progressing behind closed doors.

In a recent statement, Moravy confirmed that Tesla is pushing the boundaries of automotive engineering as it crafts the new Roadster, a vehicle first unveiled in prototype form back in 2017. When asked about its current status, Moravy said the project is “definitely in development” and that the team has been in direct discussion with Tesla CEO Elon Musk regarding its future.

Moravy added that Tesla’s engineers are “preparing for super cool demos,” a comment that echoes Musk’s own cryptic teaser from earlier this month. Posting on X, Musk wrote: “I just left the Tesla design studio. By the end of the year, you will see an epic demo, the best ever.” Although he did not specify what product the announcement referred to, speculation has naturally centered around the new Roadster.

“I think it’s going to be incredible,” said Moravy, reinforcing expectations that the vehicle will be nothing short of groundbreaking.

The Roadster, which was initially pitched as the fastest production car ever made—with a sub-2-second 0-60 mph time and a top speed north of 250 mph—has repeatedly faced production delays. However, Moravy’s latest comments suggest that Tesla is refining not just the specs, but the entire philosophy behind the vehicle.

“The Roadster has to be the best, and we’re making it better and better,” Moravy explained, hinting at iterative enhancements and major technological leaps behind the scenes. “It’s a little bit more than just the car,” he added. “We showed Elon some great demos last week, which are related to the technology we’re working on. He was excited.”

Earlier this year, Moravy also revealed that Musk had challenged the team to go “a step further” than originally planned, which led engineers to realize they could surpass even their own ambitious benchmarks. This suggests Tesla may be integrating innovations from other divisions—possibly SpaceX-inspired tech or advanced autonomy features.

Moravy, who has been with Tesla since 2010 and assumed his current role in 2019, emphasized that the team has been rethinking every detail: “We’ve spent a lot of time over the past few years thinking about what we’ve done so far and why, and what would make the car great and exciting—the best for drivers.”

With the promise of an “epic demo” coming before the end of the year, anticipation is once again mounting. The Roadster may have taken longer than expected to resurface, but all signs point to a reinvention that could redefine not just electric performance, but the very notion of what a hypercar can be in the EV era.
