Acura ILX – quiet enough to hear your elevated heartbeat

The new 2020 Acura ILX delivers top performance even before you get in the vehicle. Its low, wide sporty stance betrays the look of a sports sedan. The performance of the Acura ILX is enhanced by Shark-Gray, noise-reducing wheels and the bold Diamond Pentagon Grille flanked by chiseled Jewel Eye® LED headlights.

The interior of the ILX is done in the style of sports cars. At the driver’s feet, stainless steel sport pedals offer a raceboot-ready style, while seats finished with perforated Ultrasuede® inserts and contrast stitching add to the performance-focused attitude. Above, a black headliner increases the dramatic effect of the red-illuminated instrument panel, and throughout the cabin. It’s a focus on performance matched in comfort with an array of premium materials, including a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob. As well, dual-zone, automatic climate control, complete with humidity control and multilevel heated front seats, further improves everyone’s comfort. And to empower the driver, an available 7-inch LED backlit touchscreen manages everything from phone to audio to vehicle information.

Acura’s Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure is designed to absorb and disperse frontal impact energy so less force is transferred to what really matters: the people inside. ACE incorporates extra bracing at the front corners to absorb and distribute impact energy from narrow-offset collisions to the primary crash structure. The outer braces are designed to transfer impact load toward the center of the frame, where the energy can be distributed around the cabin area more evenly. This enhanced frontal-crash-energy management helps reduce the forces transferred to the reinforced cabin and can help to more evenly disperse the forces transferred to other vehicles in a collision.

The 2.4 liter engine delivers 201 hp and 180 lb-ft of torque at 3.600 rpm. The eight-speed dual-clutch transmission not only maintains high engine speeds, but also maintains a high heart rate. Fortunately, active sound control, standard for every ILX, dramatically reduces unwanted noise.

Land Rover Discovery Sport

Discovery Sport has been designed without compromise. Capable and adaptable it can get straight to work across a huge variety of vastly differing conditions and roles. Discovery Sport is ready for anything.

Discovery Sport features a strong, lightweight body structure which has been developed using advanced, weight-saving materials. The structure is based on a steel monocoque foundation which is derived from Land Rover’s compact SUV platform.

Discovery Sport has a chassis which has been specially developed by Land Rover engineers to deliver agile and refined on-road dynamics along with the brand’s legendary all-terrain capability. Lightweight aluminum chassis components are used extensively to improve suspension performance by increasing stiffness and reducing unsprung weight, while also reducing total vehicle weight. The chassis features a number of innovations, such as Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS), which help the vehicle achieve its unique dynamic character.

Discovery Sport has a fully independent suspension system with an advanced multi-link rear suspension design. This delivers enhanced dynamics and refinement together with a compact layout to provide increased interior space. The system has been specifically developed to enhance the Discovery Sport with unmatched capabilities. It offers reactive and agile handling, with superior ride quality and sophistication. Excellent wheel travel and articulation helps the vehicle achieve legendary Land Rover off-road performance.

The lightweight, compact 9-speed Automatic Transmission is specifically designed for transverse applications. It is one of the most efficient and technically advanced ever used in a production Land Rover vehicle.

Discovery Sport offers two types of engines:

Si4 237HP
Ingenium 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with 237hp. Gas engine produces 251 lb-ft of torque and delivers outstanding fuel economy and driveability. For excellent acceleration and effortless overtaking,
maximum torque is available at 1,250rpm. The intelligent continuous variable valve lift (CVVL) system varies the extent to which the supply valves open, reducing engine pumping losses. This allows the engine to ‘breathe’ with maximum efficiency, optimizing power and torque.

Si4 286HP
Ingenium 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged gas engine with 286HP. It provides a maximum torque of 295 lb-ft at 1,500 rpm. The improved turbocharger has a high-flow compressor, the wheel delivers 26% more air, allowing a maximum power of 286HP. The twin-turbocharger has ceramic ball bearings which reduce friction and improve temporary response.

Chevrolet Camaro Z28 – the most responsive American V8

The Chevrolet Z/28 is a Camaro Sport Coupe with PRO Z28 – an option package with a number of built-in modifications and features. Most notable, the engine. The Chevrolet Z/28 is an engineering masterpiece. A big-bore, short-stroke 302 cubic inch plant that very quickly delivers about the strongest 290 hp you’ll ever feel. And 290 hp is only the production stage of tune. That’s mostly what makes the Z/28 Chevrolet’s most unique 4-passenger model – and the closest thing going to a four- place sports car.

The Z/28 is very well behaved in ordinary traffic. Smooth. Comfortable. Maneuverable. Even docile if you like. The Z/28 can putt a long bumper to bumper traffic as adequately as it can hum along the turnpike. It’s a very handsome machine as well. You can see how determined it looks, with bold rally striping over the bonnet and rear deck. Very posh on the inside, too. With comfortable all-vinyl bucket seats, carpeting, attractive appointments. Add the tach and bank of instruments and it looks like all business. It can be had in any one of Camaro’s 15 Magic-Mirror exterior colors for ’68 – with contrasting striping and color-keyed interior trim.

The steering is fast ratio. The wheels are big; tires are nylon cord, and designed for more than a routine driving. The suspension is heavy duty, with special springs front and rear. The Z/28 must be ordered with a Chevrolet 4-speed floor-mounted transmission – which is a zipping to operate. Power front disc brakes must also be specified. The standard rear axle ratio is 3.73:1 – other ranges available to fit your foot.

The 302 engine comes from a 327 block and a special 283 crankshaft. Features include a Holley 4-barrel carb, high-winding mechanical valve lifters, aluminum inlet manifold, dual, deep-tone exhaust system, special cam, oil pump and a cooling system.

302-cu.in, V8 with special camshaft and mechanical lifters, aluminum “tuned inlet” manifold, high-capacity oil pump and special baffling in oil pan. The cooling system includes a double-belt fan drive, an external bypass, a water pump, a thermostatically controlled 5-blade fan with an operating range of 2300 to 2600 rpm. It also includes a chrome air purifier cover, seesaw covers, a filling tube and a cover. Dual exhaust system with double deep tone. Spring diaphragm diaphragm switch of bent finger diameter 10.34 “with load capacity 2300-2600 lb.

But what the Z/28 contains and how it looks loses relevance when you’re inside, behind the wheel and when you’re moving. That way you will find out what this car is about. The luxuries of the 302 engine are matched by cars with excellent road feel. With relatively low engine weight and heavier rear parts that provide improved weight distribution for extra traction on the drive wheels. It holds up nicely on bends and bends. As you accelerate, decelerate and howl, you feel that the Z/28 is doing exactly what you are looking for. He sticks to what’s going on along the way, but it’s not too hard. You can still enjoy a long turn behind the wheel – or a good ride.
