Ford is considering a road-legal Mustang GT3

Ford recently announced that after 58 years of racing experience, it will take its Mustang racing car to the next level with the new Mustang GT3. Ford worked on this car with M-Sport, and the owner, Malcolm Wilson, did not hide his enthusiasm for this cooperation.

The car will make its debut in the 2024 season, and news is coming from the company that will delight all Ford Mustang fans. According to Chief Executive Officer of Ford Jim Farley, Ford is considering production of a road-legal Mustang GT3. This could be a response to competitors who have been offering their racing cars as street legal for years.

Mustang GT3 will be based on the powerful Dark Horse and will be powered by a 5.0L Coyote V8 engine with 500 hp (368 kW) and 418 lb-ft (567 Nm) of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed TREMEC manual transmission.

Ford has also announced that it will refresh the Mustang GT4 for 2023 to continue the success story of this model. “We’ve had a lot of success both here and in Europe with the current Mustang GT4, and we look forward to being able to provide our customers with a brand new car for competition in the GT4 category starting next season,” said Mark Rushbrook .
