Nissan has unveiled its new model, the Nissan Z. This retro-designed sports car will run a 3.0-liter V6 engine with 400 hp, and will be produced in two versions: Sport and Performance.
Ever since the first introduction of the 370 Z model, 13 years ago, the Nissan Z series has not changed much. The intention was not only to build a more powerful and agile car, but also to become one with the driver.
Inspired by a ’69 model, the Nissan Z got a reinforced body and a redesigned suspension, but retained the bonnet and a more subtle rear spoiler. The grille and LED lights are taken from the Z Proto model, and new shock absorbers have been installed to ensure better stability.
With a focus on the driver, the interior is designed in a blend of comfort and technology. The seats are upholstered in black leather or fabric. An 8-inch touchscreen infotainment screen is located in the center of the dashboard, while a 9-inch touch screen is available in the Performance model.
The Nissan Z will be powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine with 400 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque, with a water-cooled intercooler. It is equipped with a six-speed manual transmission that transmits power to the rear wheels. There will also be a nine-speed automatic transmission (optional).
Sport Brakes with 4-piston calipers will ensure safe braking and stopping. The Sport model will use 18 “wheels with 248/45 tires, while the Performance will have 19” wheels with 255/40 tires at the front and 275/35 tires at the rear.
The car will go on sale early next year, and it is currently unknown how much it will cost.
