Italian carmaker Pagani has unveiled a special car, the Huayra Codalunga. It is a limited edition of a car that collectors insisted on. Pagani will produce only five copies of this model, and each will cost more than 7 million euros.
The idea for the project arose in 2018 when collectors asked Pagani to produce a long-tail version of the Pagani Huayra Coupé, with a design like the 60s cars competing in 24 Hours of Le Mans. Now, four years later, Pagani has revealed what the Codalunga project looks like, for which five customers have set aside seven million euros each. Each car is made in cooperation with the owner.
“A client is not someone who only buys from you once. A real client comes back again and again ”- Horacio Pagani, Founder & Chief Designer, Pagani Automobili.
The car is currently in the testing phase, and lightweight materials, such as titanium and aluminum, were used in its construction. So now this hyper car weighs only 1,280 kg (2,822 lb). By presenting a limited edition Huayra Codalunga, Pagani took the opportunity to announce that a new generation of supersport car is in preparation.
When it comes to powertrain, the Pagani Huayra Codalunga is known to be powered by a centrally located 6-liter biturbo V12 engine with 840 hp (618 kW) and 811 lb-ft (1,100 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to all wheels via a 7-speed transmission.
