2023 Porsche 911 Dakar is coming soon

After Lamborghini unveiled its off road car Huracan Sterrato, the last with ICE, Porsche announced the arrival of its all-road car, the Porsche 911 Dakar. The premiere will take place on November 16 at the LA Auto Show.

The car passed tests at the Nürburgring and final winter tests, and now it has arrived in the deserts of Morocco and Dubai. Test drivers and engineers were assisted on several occasions by the legendary German rally driver and Porsche ambassador for many years, Walter Röhrl.

The photos reveal that the Porsche 911 Dakar is not raised as much as the two test prototypes that recently reached the top of the highest volcano in the world, but it has a slightly higher suspension than the Carrera 4S on which it is based. The new front bumper, revised air intakes and fixed rear wing are just some of the novelties that the 911 Dakar has. At the rear there are round exhaust pipes and a one-piece light bar under the rear wing.

When it comes to the powertrain, Porsche has not announced technical details, but it is expected that the 911 Dakar will be powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged boxer 6 engine with 473 hp (348 kW) and 420 lb-ft (570 Nm) of torque. The same engine powers the Porsche Carrera 4 GTS. Power is transmitted to all wheels via a 7-speed manual transmission or an 8-speed dual-clutch PDK.

Also, Porsche has decided to refresh several of its models such as the popular 911 Carrera and 911 (992) Cabriolet (as the 2024 model). Both cars will hit the market in 2023.

2023 Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato, the last one with ICE

At the beginning of the year, Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann said that this will be the last year in which the only offer will be internal combustion engines, as they will offer their first plug-in hybrid model in 2023. Thus, the honor of being the last Lamborghini with an internal combustion engine will go to the 2023 Huracan Sterrato, which will be presented at this year’s Art Basel festival in Miami (USA), which will take place from December 1-4.

The all-terrain super sports car will be powered by a centrally located naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine. It is currently unknown whether this will be a version that develops 631 hp (464 kW) like the STO and Huracan Tecnica. However, unlike these two versions, it is certain that the Sterrato will have AWD.

The car is additionally raised from the ground compared to the standard Huracan, protected and widened. Obviously, Lamborghini intends to expand its offer and make it more attractive, so that it can respond to the recently unveiled Ferrari Purosangue as well as the Porsche 911 Safari/Dakar, which the German company is seriously working on.

Lamborghini has not announced how many units of the Huracan Sterrato will be produced. Some rumors say that it could be a limited edition, because Lamborghini will say goodbye to Huracan in 2024.

Elon Musk sells almost 20 million Tesla shares

Tesla CEO Elon Musk sold 19.5 million shares of the company, worth $3.95 billion. The reason is still unknown, and many speculate that one of the reasons could be the frequent recalls and problems with the cars that caused the stock to drop by 50 percent.

Tesla recently recalled 40,000 vehicles from the US market due to a potential problem with the steering wheel. Before that, they had a security problem when a young man from Germany claimed to have found a weakness that enabled him to control Tesla’s cars from 13 different countries. They also had mechanical problems, such as the case when the Tesla Model 3 suddenly stopped on the highway, causing a collision of several vehicles, which resulted in the death of one person.

This is not the first time Musk has sold a large amount of Tesla stock. In April of this year, he sold shares worth 8.5 billion dollars, while in August he sold shares worth seven billion dollars. The total value of the shares sold is about $20 billion USD.

Musk recently bought Twitter for $44 billion USD, and the first move he made was to lay off half of the company’s seven thousand employees. He said he had no other choice, claiming that the company was losing four million dollars a day. He accused activist groups of putting pressure on advertisers, which caused a big drop in revenue.

He also announced that users will pay eight dollars per month for account verification, but this is currently postponed.
