Shelby GT500 Code Red

In 2008, the Shelby twin-turbo Code Red appeared, developed in cooperation with the company Nelson’s Racing Engines, which prepared a 5.4-liter V8 engine. However, it was the only example due to the high costs and extreme nature of the car. 14 years later Shelby introduced the Shelby GT500 Code Red.

It is a limited edition that differs visually and powerfully from the standard Shelby GT500. It is painted black with red stripes on the lower part of both doors. It is based on one of its experimental cars that Shelby American introduced 14 years ago. Unlike the standard GT500 Code Red has a slightly different design but also a much more powerful 5.2-liter twin-turbo V8 engine.

The GT500 Code Red received a special equipment package that includes a larger body, upgraded axles, tuned suspension, modified interior, new badges, carbon bonnet, new set of rims, tires, new fuel system, ECU unit and other improvements. All this allows this super powerful car to develop a maximum of 1,300 hp (956 kW) and 780 lb-ft (1,058 Nm) of torque, using E85 Ethanol. Using 93-octane fuel, engine output drops to 1,000 hp (746 kW).

Inside, the seats are upholstered in a combination of black and red leather with white stitching. There are Shelby lettering on the seats and a Code Red logo that can also be seen on the floor mats. The Code Red inscription is also on the door sills. Black leather adorns the door panels and dashboard, while the steering wheel is covered with a combination of black leather and Alcantara.

Shelby will produce 10 examples of this super powerful car. The price of the Code Red equipment package is $209,995, without the Shelby GT500.

Remastered Porsche 911 (993) Turbo with 700 hp

After last year’s Porsche 993 Speedster Remastered, American tuner Gunther Werks has unveiled its new work, Project Tornado. It is a remastered Porsche 911 (993) Turbo.

Project Tornado is a modern version of the 911 (993) Turbo model with an ultra-wide body, a unique interior, 700 hp and LED headlights taken from the 993 Speedster. It is equipped with Porsche GT elements that include a carbon body, a new front bumper with larger air intakes, a new splitter, front wheel arches with integrated vents, new side skirts, wide rear wheel arches with large intakes, active suspension, a large rear wing with functional vents for cooling, a new rear bumper, rear fenders with a ram-air intake, a large diffuser and two tailpipes made of Inconel and titanium using a 3D printer.

Inside, the carbon fiber seat buckets are covered in a combination of Alcantara and orange and black leather with orange stitching, while the door panels are made of carbon fiber. The steering wheel is covered with Alcantara, which can also be seen on the dashboard and floor mats.

When it comes to propulsion, Project Tornado is powered by an air-cooled 4.0-liter flat-six twin-turbo engine that in race mode delivers 700 hp (522 kW) and 560 lb-ft (759 Nm) of torque. In standard form, the engine delivers 600 hp (447 kW). Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission. It is mounted on a set of lightweight 18-inch carbon-magnesium rims, while for safe braking and stopping there are Brembo CCMR brakes.

Gunther Werks will produce just 25 examples of the Project Tornado, and the price has not been announced.

Koenigsegg CC850

The Swedish manufacturer of high-performance sports cars presented its new supercar, the Koenigsegg CC850. It’s a super car that returns to the scene after 20 years, stronger than ever.

The CC850 is the successor to the CC8S, which appeared on the market two decades ago. However, apart from the design, the two cars are completely different. It is powered by a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with 1,385 hp (1,032 kW) and 1,021 lb-ft (1,385 Nm) of torque when running on E85 fuel. With regular fuel, the number of horsepower drops by 200 hp. The engine is paired with a 9-speed “Light Speed ​​Transmission” gearbox. However, when you enter the cabin, you will see a 6-speed manual transmission and a clutch pedal. The reason is that Koenigsegg has linked the clutch pedal and mechanical gear changes to a multi-clutch 9-speed transmission, which Koenigsegg calls the TWMPAFMPC transmission (the most powerful and fastest production car with a manual transmission). This enables the driver to enjoy manual gear changes in manual mode, but up to 6, because to switch to higher gears it is necessary to change the mode.

Inside, carbon fiber seats with red leather give the driver the full driving experience of a powerful sports car. Carbon accessories and red leather can also be seen on the door panels, the dashboard and the central part of the steering wheel with the “Koenigsegg” logo.

Koenigsegg has not announced the performance of the CC850, but neither has the price. The car will be produced in only 50 copies in honor of the 50th birthday of the company’s founder, Christian von Koenigsegg.
