Mercedes-Benz eActros LongHaul with a rage of 311 miles

Last year, Mercedes unveiled its eActros electric truck, and on that occasion, Karin Rådström, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Trucks, said: “We have to acknowledge that transport is part of the problem when it comes to climate change. At the same time, we can and we will be part of the solution. We start with our eActros that has covered more than half a million kilometers on public roads. The eActros and its dedicated services are a big step for Mercedes-Benz Trucks and for our customers towards CO₂- neutral transport. ” Now comes the Mercedes-Benz eActros LongHaul with a longer range (311 miles).

“The tremendous interest in our eActros driving event in Wörth is further proof of the popularity of e-mobility is already gaining with customers. Customers are thus sending a strong signal to all stakeholders to combine efforts and quickly put more and more electric trucks on the road, expand the charging infrastructure and create cost parity, ”said Karin Rådström, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Trucks.

It took two years for the first eActros LongHaul prototypes to appear on the streets. The truck is not finished yet, because it takes time to prepare the final product, which is expected in 2024. Until then, the charging infrastructure should be ready, ie the first MCS (Megawatt Charging System) stations along the main routes, which are jointly developed by Volvo Group, Daimler Truck and Traton Group (Scania and MAN).

When it comes to propulsion, Mercedes is silent. It is known that the global supplier of lithium-ion batteries for Mercedes electric trucks will be the company CATL, but it may not be the only one.

The Mercedes-Benz eActros is powered by two electric motors, which are powered by 3 or 4 batteries with a total power of 315 kWh or 420 kWh (depending on the version). This allows a truck with a larger battery to cover a range of 250 miles (400 km), or 186 miles (300 km) with a smaller battery. It takes a little over an hour to charge a 20-80% battery.

Toyota GR Corolla MORIZO limited edition

Following the recently unveiled GR Corolla, Toyota has prepared a special limited edition of this model that will join the special Core Grade and Circuit Edition models. The car was created in honor of Toyota President Akio Toyoda and was named GR Corolla MORIZO.

Under the hood is an upgraded 1.6-liter three-cylinder turbo petrol engine (G16E-GTS) with 300 hp (221 kW) @ 6,500 rpm and 295 lb-ft (370 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to all wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission. It is mounted on lightweight reinforced 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.

The MORIZO Edition comes with a number of performance improvements, which promises greater potential. The car is 45 kg lighter than the Circuit Edition, and this has been achieved by removing the rear seats, the speakers in the rear doors, the rear window regulator. Many lightweight materials have been used such as so the carbon fiber roof, bonnet and front door panels are made of aluminum. There are also new brake cooling vents.

Inside, the seats are upholstered in a combination of Brin Naub suede and synthetic leather with red stitching. Suede also covers the steering wheel.

Toyota did not say how many copies will be produced or at what price. Given that the number of GR Corolla Core Grade and Circuit Editions is limited to only 200 copies for 2023, the same can be expected for MIORIZO.

Jaguar F-Pace SVR Edition 1988

More than three decades ago, Jaguar won the 24 Hours of Le Mans with the XJR-9. In honor of the victory, the British company has prepared a new high-performance SUV inspired by the company’s successes, the Jaguar F-Pace SVR Edition 1988, which will be unveiled at this year’s race.

The Jaguar F-Pace SVR Edition 1988 is painted in Midnight Amethys Gloss color like the XJR-9. There are Sunset Gold Sating shades of gold that adorn the emblems but can also be seen inside the steering wheel, gearshift paddles, seats and dashboard. There’s also plenty of carbon, as well as leather on the dashboard, steering wheel, gear lever and seats. All of these changes come from Jaguar’s SV Bespoke department.

When it comes to powertrain, the Jaguar F-Pace SVR Edition 1988 is powered by a 5.0L V8 petrol engine with 550 hp (404 kW) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque. The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Enough power to push a high-performance SUV to 62 mph in about 4 seconds at a top speed of 178 mph (286 km / h). It is mounted on a Champagne Gold Satin 22-inch rim.

Jaguar will produce only 384 copies of the F-Pace SVR Edition 1988, one for each lap driven at Le Mans. Orders are already being received worldwide.
