ID. EVERY1 is the most affordable VW EV

VW ID. EVERY1 is the most affordable electric car from the German manufacturer, with a starting price of around 20,000 euros. The concept car was presented on March 5, and its production version should arrive in 2027.

This car is supposed to replace the UP! model, which was discontinued in 2023, and the company says the production version will use a new software architecture. This means the future entry-level model will be able to receive new features throughout its lifecycle.

It is built on the modular MEB platform, like the ID. 2all, which has not yet entered production, and is expected to debut in 2026. It is 3,880 mm long, which means it is smaller than the ID. 2all (4,050 mm) and the current generation Polo (4,074 mm). The interior has a simple design with a large, centrally located touchscreen, buttons for controlling temperature, heating and sound volume. A removable Bluetooth speaker is located between the driver and front passenger. In front of the passenger is a changeable multi-function panel that can be used to attach various items such as a shelf or a tablet. The four-seater also offers a decent 305 liters of luggage space.

The ID EVERY1 is powered by a single electric motor with 94 hp, and has a top speed of 130 km/h (81 mph). It is not known which battery it will use, but VW promises a range of 250 kilometers.

2026 Cadillac Escalade IQL

American manufacturer Cadillac has unveiled the largest version of its Escalade SUV, the Escalade IQL. It is an extended version of the all-electric Escalade IQ model, with a length of over 5.8 meters. Production will start in mid-2025.

At first glance, it cannot be said that Cadillac has changed much. However, the Escalade IQL brings something new that can be distinguished from the Escalade IQ model, such as the new design of the C and D pillars, large side windows placed behind the rear doors, and a slightly different (flatter) rear end.

The Escalade IQL is 5,803 millimeters long, which means that it is 107 millimeters longer than the Escalade IQ, and 38 millimeters longer than the Escalade ESV, but with the same wheelbase of 3,460 millimeters. It will be available in four equipment packages, which include the Super Cruise autonomous driving system, AKG Studio audio system with 21 speakers and a 55-inch digital instrument and multimedia system with a wide screen. Passengers in the third row of seats now have even more legroom (932 millimeters), and the luggage compartment has been increased to 3,546 liters.

When it comes to the powertrain, the Escalade IQL is powered by two electric motors with a total power of 760 hp and 1,063 Nm of torque. This is enough to push the car from 0 to 97 km/h (60 mph) in 4.7 seconds, and thanks to the 205 kWh battery, it will offer a range of 740 kilometers. It is mounted on a set of 24-inch wheels.

Stellantis announced the new generation of Jeep Compass

Stellantis owns 14 brands, some of which are becoming unprofitable for one of the largest conglomerates in the world, but the group is trying to get out of it and keep them all. One of the brands that recorded a 9% drop last year is Jeep, but the company is announcing a new generation of Jeep Compass.

What we know so far is that the new Compass will be based on the STLA Medium platform, which is also used by several models from the group such as the Peugeot 3008 and 5008, Opel Grandland, DS 7 and the new Citroen C5 Aircross.

Jeep has released a teaser that shows that the new Compass will have a standard seven-slat front grille, new headlights like those on the Recon model, and new taillights with LED graphics.

When it comes to the powertrain, the Compass will be offered as a hybrid, plug-in hybrid and all-electric. Stellantis also claims that the new Compass will have best-in-class performance and cutting-edge technology.

The European version will enter production later this year and will be assembled at the Meifi plant in Italy. In the meantime, production at the Brampton plant in Canada has been halted while Stellantis reviews its product strategy for North America.
