Most of us know that the 2022 SSC Tuatara, with 316 mph (508 km/h), is the fastest production car in the world, but how many of you know what the fastest production car is when it comes to electric cars? The answer is the Rimac Nevera, which reached a speed of 412 km/h (256 mph).
“An incredible speed of 412 km/h is not something you do every day. When we decided to confirm this speed, we made sure we had everything we needed, a location that would give us enough space to reach speed and stop safely, the right tires that are in this case the Michelin Cup 2R, an expert to check their condition, a special Nevera aero profile that reduces the downforce at the front of the car balancing it for stability and a man on a mission to join the 400+ club, our test and development driver Miro,” it was announced from the company.
The Rimac Nevera is powered by four electric motors with a total power of 1,914 hp (1,408 kW) and 1,741 lb-ft (2,360 Nm) of torque. It reaches 62 mph in just 1.97 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 219 mph (352 km/h). It is equipped with a lithium-manganese-nickel battery with 6,960 cells and a capacity of 120kWh.
