Since the mid-60s, Porsche 911 models have attracted the attention of all car enthusiasts, especially companies that strive to make them better or that use their bodies to build cars. Among many, the German company RUF Automobile, which specializes in Porsche cars, stands out. One of their works, a modified 1998 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa, is for sale.
This 911 Carrera Targa is powered by a Triple K turbocharged 3.6L flat-six engine with 282 hp (210 kW) and 250 lb-ft (340 Nm) of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission with a limited-slip differential. It is mounted on a set of Silver 18” alloy wheels wrapped in 225/40 (front) and 285/30 (rear) Toyo Proxes T1 Sport tires.
The car is finished in Ocean Blue Metallic, has been well maintained and is in good condition. It is based on the 993 Targa and a widebody conversion was carried out in 2013 at Continental Auto Body of Calgary. It is equipped with headlight washers, fog lights, power-adjustable mirrors, a fixed rear spoiler, dual exhaust outlets with polished RUF finishers, KW adjustable coilovers, power-operated glass roof panel, a RUF front strut-tower brace, four-wheel disc brakes with RUF-branded front calipers.
Inside, the heated and electrically adjustable front seats are upholstered in Cashmere leather that also covers the door panels. The dashboard is covered in blue leather while the steering wheel is wrapped in black leather. Additional equipment includes automatic climate control, AM/FM CD stereo, driver-side power lumbar support, an aluminum shift knob, RUF aluminum pedals, power windows and cruise control. The clock reads 42,290 miles.
The car has a clean Carfax report that shows no accidents or other damage. It comes with RUF conversion records, service records dating to 2001, manufacturer’s literature and Alberta registration.
The auction ends on December 13 and the current highest bid is $72,500 USD.
