Jeep continues to expand its range of electric models, especially for the European market. According to information from the company, Jeep will offer the popular SUV models Renegade and Compass, which are already offered in a plug-in hybrid combination, as MHEV (Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle).
Jeep says both models will have 15 percent lower fuel consumption and exhaust emissions, but will not offer them with AWD. Renegade customers can count on two equipment packages (Upland and S), and with Compass come four options (Night Eagle, Limited, Upland and S). Regardless of the package chosen, Jeep has prepared many personalization options.
The Renegade and Compass e-Hybrid will be powered by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbo engine powered by a 48-volt electric motor with a total power of 150 hp (110 kW) and 218 lb-ft (295 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 7-speed dual cloutch automatic transmission. and an additional 20 hp and 55 Nm of torque is provided by a 48-volt electric motor.
Jeep e-Hybrids will arrive on the European market in March this year.
