After introducing a limited edition Defender V8 Bond Edition last year, inspired by the model from the movie “No Time to Die”, Land Rover has now paid tribute to the film about the famous British secret agent 007. It is the Defender Rally Special which celebrates 60 years since the first James Bond film, “Dr. No.”
The car is inspired by the Defender 90 model that British rally driver Mark Higgins will drive in this year’s rally-raid championship. Defender Rally Special is painted black with the number “60” on the door and roof. Adapted for rally-raid championship, the car is equipped with improved suspension, improved engine and transmission cooling, a new exhaust system, a safety cage, and is mounted on reinforced 18-inch wheels wrapped in 255 / 70VR18 tires.
The Defender Rally Special is powered by a 2.0-liter Inline-4 turbo gasoline engine with 300 hp (221 kW) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to all wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission.
