2025 Porsche Taycan – better than ever

The 2025 Porsche Taycan is finally here. It is a new generation of this model, which Porsche says can be considered a new model. It comes with more power, longer range, better performance, better stability and faster charging.

In the past, we have seen several photos of the Taycan prototype that has traveled more than 3.5 million kilometers in different types of tests from the big minus and the ice of the north to the scorching deserts. “The intensity and comprehensiveness of the relentless testing that the test prototypes of the redesigned Taycan had to go through was no different from the work we do when developing a next-generation model, and the result will be a Taycan that is improved in every segment ,” said Kevin Giek, Vice President of Model Line Taycan.

“We ushered in a new era of e-mobility with the Taycan at the end of 2019. It immediately proved to be a turning point and a leader of innovation in the e-vehicle segment. Now we continue this success story with the extensively updated Taycan. The model line has reached new heights in terms of performance, with exceptional dynamics At the same time, we have managed to significantly improve efficiency, range, everyday usability and comfort,” said Giek.

All three versions (Taycan, Taycan Cross Turismo and Taycan Sport Turismo) will have numerous modifications, and will be available with four powertrain options as well as rear or all-wheel drive options. The Sport Chrono package with the push-to-pass function brings a power increase of up to 70kW in a period of 10 seconds, depending on the model. This means 60 kW more than before for the standard Taycan, or 140 kW more for the Taycan Turbo S with Launch Control. The range has also been increased by 175 kilometers, to a maximum of 678 km.

The new Taycan comes with an 800-volt architecture that allows charging at a speed of up to 320 kW, which is 50 kW more than before. This means faster charging thanks to which the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in 50% less time than before.

All updated versions come with adaptive air suspension as standard, while the new Porsche Active Ride suspension can be ordered as an option for all-wheel drive versions. In dynamic driving situations, the Porsche Active Ride system ensures perfect grip on the road thanks to the balanced distribution of the load on the wheels, reducing the impact of acceleration forces on the passengers.

The car is equipped with an advanced powertrain with a new engine on the rear axle that delivers up to 80 kW more power compared to its predecessor, a modified voltage inverter with optimized software, more powerful batteries, revised heat management, a next-generation heat pump and a modified recuperation and drive strategy all wheels. There are also aerodynamically optimized 21-inch wheels.

The cabin of the new Taycan is equipped with ambient lighting, ParkAssist with reversing camera, electrically folding mirrors with illuminated frames, heated front seats, Porsche Intelligent Range Manager (PIRM), heat pump with new cooling system, smartphone holder for wireless charging, connectors for electric charging on the driver’s and passenger’s side, switch for Drive Mode and Power Steering Plus. There is also an instrument panel, a central screen and an optional passenger screen with an optimized user interface with additional functions, as well as a new In-Car Video function that allows video to be displayed on the central and passenger screens.

When it comes to the exterior, the new design of the front and rear lights, as well as the new front wings further emphasize the width of the Taycan. The new headlights with high-resolution HD matrix technology and detailed optics display the four-point graphics characteristic of Porsche at night. Other features include the Porsche logo on the rear light strip, and for the first time an illuminated version of the logo is available.

After long testing and covering more than 3.5 million kilometers, the new Porsche Taycan will soon arrive on the market. Although it is a new generation, Porsche says that it can also be seen as a new model.

The car passed different types of tests from the big minus and the ice of the north to the scorching deserts. The best engineers of the company worked on the project, pushing the test specimens to the limits of endurance, so Porsche left nothing to chance. The same engineers were in charge of the electrically powered Rolls-Royce Specter, which covered over 2 million kilometers during testing under similar conditions.

“The intensity and comprehensiveness of the relentless testing that the test prototypes of the redesigned Taycan had to go through was no different from the work we do when developing a next-generation model, and the result will be a Taycan that is improved in every segment,” said Kevin Giek, Vice President Model Line. Taycan.

In addition to the Taycan, on January 25, Porsche will present the fully electric Macan, which will be powered by two electric motors with a total power of more than 603 hp (450 kW) and 737 lb-ft (1,000 Nm) of torque. It will be equipped with a 100 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, and will have AWD. Thanks to the fast charger, the battery will be charged to 80 percent in just 22 minutes. When it comes to power distribution, it is known that 48 percent of the power will go to the front and 52 percent to the rear axle. Porsche will also offer a less powerful version with a single electric motor located in the rear and will have RWD.
