Audi Q8 TFSI

At the end of 2020, Audi will present a new hybrid version of the Audi Q8 TFSI e. It’s a plug-in hybrid version of a coupe-SUV. The new model will come in a choice of two guises. The ‘standard’ Audi Q8 55 TFSI e Quattro joined by the more powerful Q8 Competition 60 TFSI e Quattro.

Audi said its European models will come standard with a S-line sports body kit, 21-inch alloy wheels, red brake calipers and Matrix LED headlights. Inside, customers get a pair of sports seats, stainless steel pedals and a 10.1-inch touch screen.

Like most plug-in hybrids, the Q8 TFSI e comes with three drive modes – Auto, Hold and Charge. The first automatically manages the powertrain’s use of combustion and electric power; the second saves the battery’s charge level for use later in the journey. The third uses the petrol engine and brake recuperation system to brim the battery on the move.

The Audi 55 TFSI e quattro combines 375 hp and 600 Nm of torque, while the more powerful Audi 60 TFSI e quattro delivers 455 hp and 700 Nm of torque. Both models can reach a maximum of 78 mph in electric mode, and quattro all-wheel drive has not changed compared to models with conventional drive. 55 TFSI e quattro from 0-60 mph accelerates in 5.8 seconds. A much stronger 60 TFSI e from 0-60 mph accelerates in 5.4 seconds. Both models reach a top speed of 150 mph.

The hybrid system contains a 17.8 kWh liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery, which is housed in the trunk. In addition to electric, hybrid and automatic driving mode, the plug-in hybrid Audi Q8 also has a so-called “hold” mode that saves battery for future use, as well as a “charge” mode that charges the battery as much as possible while driving and uses an energy recovery system that can reach up to 80 kW when braking.

Charging the battery takes two and a half hours with a capacity of 7.4 kw.

Audi e-tron GT

The Audi e-tron GT is a bold-looking electric car. It is expected to be a response to the Porsche Taycan. The production version has not been revealed yet. Some of its eccentricities are expected to be dialed back. The Audi e-tron GT will be introduced in 2021.

Audi plans to simultaneously present the production e-tron GT and its more powerful derivative GT RS. It’s no secret that both electric-powered Audi’s are based precisely on Taycan’s J1 platform with which they largely share proportions as well.

With similar dimensions to the Taycan, including its 114.2-inch wheelbase, the GT’s interior passenger space should be similar. Luggage can be stored in either the front trunk that boasts 4 cubic feet of volume or in the 16 cubes of space behind the rear seats.

Wide and low, the e-tron GT will fill the space between Audi’s A5 Sportback and A7 Sportback with its measurements. Batteries with a capacity of 90 kWh should provide it with at least 400 kilometers of autonomy, and the charging system (800V) will provide 80 percent of the battery capacity in just 20 minutes.

The e-tron GT looks unique and stands out on the street. This includes two separate electric motors that produce a combined 590 horsepower and provide all-wheel drive. In typical Audi fashion, the Quattro system can distribute power to individual wheels for sharper handling and improved traction. The company claims the e-tron GT will be able to hit 60 mph in about 3.5 seconds. A complex cooling method means its battery pack can handle repeated runs without compromising acceleration.

Audi A5

The precise design lines of the Audi A5 maintain a sense of speed along its profile. The Audi A5 is presented in three distinctive, refined body styles in the Coupe, Cabriolet and Sportback. And along with the available Audi S5 and RS 5 variants, the A5 family of vehicles represents a rewarding choice for those who feel as much as they think.

The iconic diamond-inspired Singleframe grille and the power dome on the hood reveal the thrilling potential of the turbocharged 2.0-liter 248-horsepower TFSI engine. A seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission recalls the marque’s track lineage, while standard quattro all-wheel drive helps optimize traction when conditions call for a more confidential driving experience.

From the Sportback to the Cabriolet, the Audi A5 offers a singular drive. The subtle form of the Shoulder line intimates the skillfully applied power and performance the Audi A5 is capable of.

The Audi S5 delivers 349 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque via the twin-scroll turbocharged 3.0-liter TFSI V6 engine. When equipped with the available S sport package, the Audi S5 gets even more assertive with the agility-enhancing quattro sport rear differential and sport tuned adaptive suspension. Accompanying those track-tested technologies, large six-piston front brake calipers make a moving performance statement. Available red brake calipers bring the Audi S5 to a flash point of sport and luxury.

The Audi RS 5 has a 2.9-liter TFSI V6 biturbo engine that produce 444 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque. The Audi RS has an eight-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive with quattro sport rear differential.
