BMW M2 upgraded by Extreme Customers

The second generation BMW M2 debuted in late 2022 in Australia and since then has been the subject of many tuners trying to make this sports car better. One of them is Extreme Customers, which took M2 to a higher level.

The German tuner added a new front splitter, side wings and a redesigned lower grille with sharp new black slats, all produced by AC Schnitzer. There’s also a new downpipe with a 200-cell catalytic converter, a new exhaust system, new carbon-finish tailpipes, a set of KW Variant 3 shocks and springs, and a new suspension that improves handling but also lowers the car while contributing to its overall appearance. At the back is a large fixed wing in Brooklyn Gray manufactured by Alpha-N and an aftermarket rear diffuser.

When it comes to the powertrain, the car is twin-turbo powered
3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine with 552 hp (406 kW), which is more than the standard M2 (459 hp/337 kW) but also the M4 Competition model. It’s mounted on a set of 20″ and 21″ Wheelforce CF.4-FF R rims wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.

One of a kind BMW 858 CSL

At the 1989 Frankfurt Motor Show BMW revealed the first generation of the BMW 8 Series, the BMW E31, which is considered one of the most beautiful coupes in the history of the Bavarian company. It often inspires numerous tuners, such as Rein Speed Shop, to create a restomod or a unique project like this BMW 858 CSL.

The project is based on the BMW 850i model, which now looks much sportier. The car received a new carbon body kit designed by independent artist Jonsibal. The front pop-up lights, which were a trademark of the E31, have been replaced by hood vents to allow more air to reach the V10 engine, wide fenders, redesigned fenders, transparent taillights, new tailpipes, and the car is adorned with new rims. The result of the project is a spectacular restomod, reminiscent of some BMW projects such as the Nazca C2 concept and the E46 M3 CSL.

The interior is equipped with new bucket seats, while the instrument panel, air conditioning controls, shift lever and start-stop button are taken from the newer BMW M models, and the steering wheel is taken from the E60 M5 model. There is also a new infotainment screen and BMW iDrive controller on the central tunnel.

When it comes to the powertrain, the original 5.0-liter S85 engine with 507 hp (373 kW) and 383 lb-ft (520 Nm) of torque has been replaced by a 5.8-L V10 engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission that sends power to the rear wheels.

BMW sold more electric cars in Europe than Tesla

After a long time, someone managed to remove Tesla from the throne of the best-selling electric cars in Europe, and that is BMW. It was the first time that a German manufacturer managed to surpass an American company.

The European electric car market is not looking great at the moment, and according to the latest results, sales have fallen by 6 percent compared to last year. This decline is the result of a lack of government incentives and buyers’ worries about how much their vehicles will be worth in the future. According to sales results in July, BMW sold 14,869 BEVs, which is 308 cars more than Tesla, although the Model Y is still the best-selling electric car. Tesla delivered 16 percent fewer Model Ys in July (9,544 units). The Volvo EX30 is second on the list with 6,573 cars sold, while the Volkswagen ID.4 is in third place with 5,295 cars delivered.

SUVs are still popular with 54 percent of all vehicles sold. “Customers in Europe now have more choice than ever before, and SUVs are a more comfortable and desirable option for many. These facts, along with the increasing availability of affordable models, are helping customers switch from traditional segments to SUVs,” said analyst Felipe Munoz.

If we look at the European market as a whole, total car sales in July increased by 2 percent compared to last year, with 1.03 million cars delivered. Dacia Sandero is the best-selling model with 22,398 units, Volkswagen T-Roc is second with 19,254 units sold, while third place belongs to Toyota Yaris Cross with 17,314 units sold.
