1997 Toyota Land Cruiser FZJ80 40th Anniversary is up for auction

In 1951, Toyota launched the first generation of what would later become its longest running series of models, the Toyota Land Cruiser. Celebrating four decades of the series, in 1997 Toyota produced 4,744 limited edition cars of the J80 generation. One of them, the 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser FZJ80 40th Anniversary is up for auction.

This FZJ80 40th Anniversary is powered by a 4.5L 1FZ-FE inline-six engine with 212 hp (158 kW) and 275 lb-ft (373 Nm) of torque. Power is sent to all wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. It is mounted on 16″ alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin LTX M/S tires.

The car is finished in Antique Sage Pearl (one of two colors available, the other is Emerald Green) and is in good condition. It is equipped with 40th Anniversary Edition fender decals, a sunroof, power-adjustable side mirrors, running boards, a receiver hitch, a rear wind deflector, rear window wiper, and locking front, center, and rear differentials. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs with ABS.

Inside, the front bucket seats are upholstered in two-tone tan leather, which also covers the second-row bench, and third-row folding seats. In front of the driver are a four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel and a six-digit odometer showing 26,833 miles. Additional equipment includes power-adjustable front seats, a CD stereo, automatic climate control, cruise control, and a digital clock.

In preparation for sale, the car was serviced, which included replacing the fuel injectors, spark plugs, spark plug wires, and various hoses as well as performing a fluid service and recharging the air conditioning system.

The car has a clean Carfax report that shows no accidents or other damage. It comes with a clean Wyoming title in the owner’s name.

The auction ends on April 28 and the highest bid at the time of writing was $125,000 USD.

1957 Porsche 356A Cabriolet is for sale

After the end of WWII, Porsche introduced its first production car, the 356, which was produced in four versions until 1965. In the mid-50s, Porsche started producing the second version of this model, the 356A, which was offered until 1959, when it was replaced by the 356B version with a T5 body type. 21,045 cars left the production line and one of them, the 1957 Porsche 356A Cabriolet is up for auction.

This 356A is powered by a 1.6-liter flat-four engine with dual downdraft carburetors paired with a four-speed manual transmission that sends power to the rear wheels. It sits on chrome-finished 15″ steel wheels wrapped in 165-series Vredestein Sprint Classic tires.

The car is finished in black, is well maintained and is in good condition. It is equipped with a Ruetter body, a black soft top with a matching boot cover as well as dual side mirrors, a rear luggage rack with leather fasteners, polished side spears and rocker panel trim, and body-color bumpers with overriders and integrated exhaust outlets at the rear , Koni shocks at the rear and four-wheel hydraulic drums.

Inside, the seats are covered in red leather that also covers the door panels and upper part of the dash. In front of the driver are a two-spoke steering wheel and a five-digit odometer showing 52,076 km (~32k miles). Additional equipment includes belts on the front seats, squareweave carpets covered with black rubber floor linings, Blaupunkt push-button radio and a passenger grab handle, and a gold ASI plate is mounted on the right kick panel.

In 2023, the car was serviced, which included rebuilding the dual carburetors, replacing the fuel pump and cleaning the fuel tank.

This 356A convertible is now offered on dealer consignment in North Carolina with refurbishment photos, import paperwork, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and transferable New York State registration.

The auction ends on April 26 and the highest bid at the time of writing was $50,000 USD.

1961 Porsche 356B Karmann Notchback sold for $56,600 USD

In 1959, Porsche introduced the second version of its first production car, the 356B, with a T5 body. It was produced until 1963, and almost 40,000 cars left the production line. Models produced in 1961 and 1962 have taken the name “Karmann notchback”, because they had the cabriolet rear end design, the T6 coupé windshield frame and a unique hard top (combination of T5 and T6 body). One of them, 1961 Porsche 356B Karmann Notchback recently sold for $56,600 USD.

This car is finished in Ruby Red, and it was not in bad condition, so it can be said that the buyer got it cheap if we consider the prices that these models are reaching lately. It is equipped with a chrome driver-side mirror, a windshield washer system, vent windows, body-color bumpers with chrome overriders, and drum brakes at each corner.

Inside, the seats are covered in Light Brown leather that also covers the door panels, the upper part of the dash and the rear bench. In front of the driver is a wood-rimmed Nardi steering wheel and a five-digit odometer showing 56,882 miles. Additional equipment includes pushbutton radio, lap belts, and rubber floor coverings.

Under the bonnet is a replacement air-cooled 1.6-liter flat-four (from a 1962 Porsche 356B 1600S) with a factory rated 89 hp (66 kW) at 5500 rpm and 89 lb-ft (121 Nm) of torque at 4300 rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. It sits on 15″ vented steel wheels with Deluxe hubcaps wrapped in Michelin XZX tires.

This Porsche 356B Karmann Notchback is sold with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, a spare radio, tools, service records, and a clean South Carolina title in the seller’s name.
