Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport tire problems

Tires are one of the most important, if not the most important, part of a car. We can say that the life of the driver depends on the quality of the tires, and Bugatti seems to have a serious problem with them. According to some information, Bugatti will withdraw the Chiron Pur Sport model because after 2,500 miles (4,000 km), damage (cracks) appear on the tires. This can be very dangerous for the driver, especially if the car can reach a top speed of 217 mph (350 km / h).

The tires that are causing the potential problem are the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R. The Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport uses 21-inch rims wrapped in 355/25 R21 (rear) tires. The company has not yet found a solution to this problem. The only thing left for vehicle owners is to change their tires after 2000 miles (3,200 km) or 18 months.

The Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport is powered by a quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W16 engine with 1,480 hp (1,103 kW) and 1,180 lb-ft (1600 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to all wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. With a weight of 4450 lb it reaches 60 mph in just 2.3 seconds.

Tire replacement will be free of charge until a solution is found or a tire that does not have this problem is produced.

A 1,500 hp Bugatti Chiron vs Formula 1 car in the one mile race

Who do you think is faster in the one mile race, the 1,500 hp Bugatti Chiron or Formula 1 car? The answer to the question was given by the guys from Carwow.

The short video was posted on the carwow YouTube channel, and shows the battle between the supercar and the F1 car. At the start the F1 car was faster, as expected, as it is lighter and is designed to have a fast start.

At 1/2 mile the F1 car was outstanding, leaving the Bugatti Chiron far behind. But then Chiron showed his true face. Its 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W16 engine with 1,500 hp (1,103 kW) paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, with full pressure on the accelerator pedal showed the power of the supercar. He managed to catch an F1 car and, in the last 100 meters, was the first to cross the one-mile line.

Bugatti Chiron reached 257 mph on the Autobahn

In 2015, Radim Passer reached a speed of 250 mph (402.5 km / h) while driving a Bugatti Veyron on the German Autobahn. That means he covered a distance of 111 meters every second. Now, six years later, he has decided to do the same but now with the Bugatti Chiron.

Before attempting to set a new record, the car was handed over for a detailed inspection at the Bugatti plant in Molsheim. Safety was a priority, so he decided to break the speed record early in the morning on the Autobahn A2. The section of the A2 was a 3 lane, 10 km straightaway with a light descent in the middle, so there was visibility along the whole stretch.

At 4:50 AM, when there was no traffic, he got out on the Autobahn A2. Deactivating the speed limiter meant that the Chiron could go faster than 237 mph (381 kph). Entering the Autobahn, he pressed the speed pedal and reached a top speed of 257 mph (414 kph). After that, he celebrated the success with his friends, and thanked God that everything went safely.
