The Ford F-150 Lightning SuperTruck was the fastest at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb

Last weekend (June 23), the 102nd Pikes Peak International Hill Climb race was held, in which the Ford F-150 Lightning SuperTruck was the fastest. The 12.42 mile (almost 20 km) long track, with 156 turns, Romain Dumas completed in 8 minutes and 53.553 seconds.

61 cars participated in the race and the Ford F-150 Lightning SuperTruck finished with more than 10 seconds lead over the Wolf GB08 (9:04.454) driven by Christian Merli. It should be noted that this result was slower than last year’s SuperVan 4.2, which crossed the track in 8:47.682.

It is interesting that the car had certain technical problems during the race, so at one point it had to stop, reset and start again. In the end, it cost him a lost 26 seconds.

The Ford F-150 Lightning SuperTruck is powered by three STARD UHP 6-Phase Motors and Ultra-High Performance Li-Polymer NMC cells, with over 1,600 hp (1,193 kW). It is equipped with a triple-element front wing, headlight ducts, hood ducts and louvers, front dive-planes, side diffusers, rear diffuser, carbon ceramic brakes, multi-element rear wing to maximize aerodynamics, and magnesium forged wheels wrapped in Pirelli P – Zero tires.
