While we await the introduction of the new Honda Civic Type R, the current Civic Type R continues to break records on circuit tracks around the world in the class of front-wheel drive cars.
After achieving the best lap times on the tracks of Europe and Japan, the Civic Type R also set the best lap times on the Australian track The Bend Motorsport Park. This time the standard version and the Limited Edition were used.

The car was driven by Tony D’Alberto who, with a standard Type R, covered a 4.95-kilometer lap in 2 minutes and 13.251 seconds. The Civic Type R is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine with 306 hp (228 kW) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. It reaches 60 mph in 4.8 seconds with a top speed of 169 mph (272 km / h).

After that, Tony D’Alberto, driving the lighter Limited Edition version, covered the same distance in 2 minutes and 12.260 seconds. This model is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo inline-four engine with 306 hp (228 kW) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. It reaches 60 mph in 4.8 seconds with a top speed of 169 mph (272 km / h).

For the biggest challenge, the Nürburgring Nordschleife, Honda will not use the current but the new generation Civic Type R which will soon have its premiere.
