Ken Block’s 1977 Ford F-150 Custom Pickup “HOONITRUCK” is up for auction

Ken Block was an American professional rally driver, formerly known as the Monster World Rally Team, who died in 2023 at the age of 55. One of the cars he drove in episodes of Gymkhana Ten and Climbkhana Two, the 1977 Ford F-150 Custom Pickup “HOONITRUCK”, is up for auction.

This Hoonitruck project is by Ken Block and the Hoonigan team, in collaboration with Detroit Speed, and it took two years to build. It is equipped with a 3D-printed intake manifold designed by Ford Performance, popping out through the hood and flanked by two turbochargers, a unique chassis, extended fenders, and a new spoiler. It is mounted on custom wheels made by Fifteen52 with real beadlocks, wrapped in Toyo tires.

Block first used this car in Gymkhana, five years ago, while driving on Route 66 and later drifted driving up the Tianmen Mountain in China.

Under the hood is a twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine with 914 hp (681 kW), and power is sent through a sequential transmission and a custom all-wheel drive system.

The auction will take place between January 18 and 26, 2025.

2004 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS is up for auction

Kenneth Paul Block is not the most successful American rally driver, but he is certainly one of the most famous. His career began in 2005 when he competed in the Rally America National Championship as a member of the Vermont SportsCar team, and in that season he won the Rally America Rookie of the Year award. In 2017, he finished his career in the World Rallycross Championship, and at the beginning of 2023, he died in a snowmobile accident near his ranch in Woodland, Utah. One of the cars that Block drove in the X Games, the 2004 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS is up for auction.

Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS is powered by a 2.0-liter flat-four engine. Power is sent to all wheels via a KAPS five-speed dog-box manual transmission, a driver-controlled center differential, and Cusco front and rear limited-slip differentials. It sits on gold-finished 15″ Speedline Corse Rally wheels wrapped in 215/65 BFGoodrich g-force tires.

This car is finished in Java Black and wrapped in black vinyl with #43 Monster Energy livery. It is equipped with PIAA driving lights, a hood scoop, a vented hood, a rear wing, a roof ventilator, mud flaps, a rear tow anchor, four-wheel disc brakes with AP rotors, four-piston calipers, Ferodo pads, and a Tilton bias adjuster and master cylinders, Öhlins shock absorbers, Cusco rear suspension links, 20mm front and rear anti-roll bars, and a 2.5:1 steering rack.

The interior of the car is completely original with Recaro Pro Racer SPA HANS racing seats, Sabelt six-point harnesses, a roll cage, a carbon-fiber dashboard and door panels, a Coralba Giant rally computer, a custom fuse and relay panel, three-spoke Sparco steering wheel, a Tilton pedal box, a passenger foot brace, and a fire suppression system. The car does not have an odometer, so the total mileage is unknown.

The Carfax report shows that the car sustained water damage and was declared a total loss in 2005. The car comes with an autographed build book, a fuel transfer pump, an ECU link harness, a Carfax report, and an Oregon title in the seller’s name.

The auction ends on December 20 and the highest bid at the time of writing was USD $46,250.

Porsche 911 SVSR Hoonipigasus will drive Lia Block

Last year, Porsche introduced the 911 SVSR Hoonipigasus, the car driven by Ken Block at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb race that year. The professional rally driver was not successful in the race, and at the beginning of this year he tragically died in an accident while driving a snowmobile.

This year, the Porsche 911 SVSR Hoonipigasus will once again participate in the Pikes Peak race, and this time Ken Block’s daughter, Lia Block, will be behind the wheel. She is a big fan of rally racing, but because of her age, she is currently too young to start a career.

It should also be noted that the car was not made in Zuffenhausen and is reminiscent of the 1971 Porsche 910/20 “Pink Pig”. It is equipped with an adjustable suspension that uses GPS coordinates based on Pikes Peak telemetry from 2021. The 1,000 kg car is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo engine with 1,400 hp (1,030 kW), just like the Ford Mustang RTR V2. Power is sent to all wheels via a six-speed sequential transmission.

The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is an extremely demanding 20-kilometer race consisting of 156 turns. The start of the race is at 1,440 and the finish at 4,300 meters above sea level.
