2023 Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato has arrived

Although it was announced that the new off-road 2023 Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato will be presented at this year’s Art Basel festival in Miami (USA), which will take place from December 1-4, the premiere took place today.

The arrival of the last Lamborghini powered by an internal combustion engine has been long awaited, and from next year their first plug-in hybrid will be on offer. The car is 4.4 centimeters additionally raised from the ground compared to the standard Huracan, protected and widened. It also received an improved version of the Integrated Vehicle Dynamics system as well as a new driving mode (Rally) intended for driving on terrains with low grip.

The Sterrato is equipped with aluminum underbody protection, reinforced sills, a set of 19-inch wheels wrapped in 235/40 R19 (front) and 285/40 R19 (rear) Bridgestone Dueler AT002 tires designed to provide optimal performance on all terrains. The novelty is runflat technology, which allows the car to travel 80 km without tire pressure.

The interior is covered with special Alcantara. It is equipped with a new touch screen, four-point safety harness, carbon bi-shell sports seats and aluminum floor mats.

The all-terrain super sports car will be powered by a centrally located naturally aspirated 5.2 L V10 engine with 610 hp (449 kW) and 413 lb-ft (560 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to all wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. It reaches 62 mph in 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 160 mph (260 km/h).

Lamborghini will produce 1,499 units of this model at a currently unknown price.

Lamborghini recalls Countach LPI 800-4

In August 2021, Lamborghini unveiled the new Countach LPI 800-4, inspired by the original Countach that premiered half a century ago. It is a limited edition that was produced in only 112 units, and all cars were sold out in the first week. However, Countach LPI 800-4 owners already have a problem as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has announced that all cars must be recalled.

After last month’s incident in Qatar, when one of the four glass panels above the engine compartment fell off the Countach, the NHTSA decided to recall all cars, noting that it could be dangerous for drivers and increase the risk of traffic collisions.

Lamborghini has already conducted an internal investigation and after testing found that the problem was caused by a supplier error. It was also found that there is a possibility of the same problem on other cars and the only option was a recall.

In January 2023, Lamborghini will contact all owners to return the vehicles to dealers for inspection. The glass panels will be inspected and replaced if necessary.

Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 is powered by a 6.5-liter V12 engine combined with an electric motor with a total power of 803 hp (599 kW) and 531 lb-ft (720 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to all wheels via a 7-speed ISR (Independent Shifting Rods) automatic gearbox. It reaches 62 mph in 2.8 seconds, 124 mph (200 km/h) in 8.6 seconds and a top speed of 221 mph (355 km/h).

2023 Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato, the last one with ICE

At the beginning of the year, Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann said that this will be the last year in which the only offer will be internal combustion engines, as they will offer their first plug-in hybrid model in 2023. Thus, the honor of being the last Lamborghini with an internal combustion engine will go to the 2023 Huracan Sterrato, which will be presented at this year’s Art Basel festival in Miami (USA), which will take place from December 1-4.

The all-terrain super sports car will be powered by a centrally located naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine. It is currently unknown whether this will be a version that develops 631 hp (464 kW) like the STO and Huracan Tecnica. However, unlike these two versions, it is certain that the Sterrato will have AWD.

The car is additionally raised from the ground compared to the standard Huracan, protected and widened. Obviously, Lamborghini intends to expand its offer and make it more attractive, so that it can respond to the recently unveiled Ferrari Purosangue as well as the Porsche 911 Safari/Dakar, which the German company is seriously working on.

Lamborghini has not announced how many units of the Huracan Sterrato will be produced. Some rumors say that it could be a limited edition, because Lamborghini will say goodbye to Huracan in 2024.
