In 1966, Porsche premiered a more powerful version of the two-door 2+2 high performance rear-engined sports model 911, the Porsche 911S. It was produced until 1973, when it was replaced by the 911 Carrera RS which was reintroduced from the 356 Carrera which had itself been named after Porsche’s class victories in the Carrera Panamericana races in Mexico in the 1950s. This beautiful and well-preserved car is powered by a 2.2-liter flat-six engine with a factory output of 180 hp (132 kW). Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission.
