Rolls-Royce has a new Spirit of Ecstasy

On February 6, 1911, the most famous Rolls-Royce bonnet ornament sculpture, The Spirit of Ecstasy, was created. 111 years later, the British brand presented a new version of the sculpture for the electric future.

What matters is that the sculpture has not undergone major changes, so Rolls-Royce fans have no need to worry. The wings (actually, the dress of the female figurine) still have the same position. However, if you look closely, you can see that the new The Spirit of Ecstasy is not as straight as before. The sculpture has bent legs, one of which is slightly forward, symbolizing a step into the electric future by creating what Rolls-Royce calls the “true goddess of speed”.

The new Rolls-Royce Spirit of Ecstasy is 0.7 inches shorter than the current one. This is important when it comes to electric vehicles, where even the smallest detail increases wind resistance which means a shorter range of the vehicle. Rolls-Royce claims that its upcoming Specter EV already has a drag coefficient of just 0.26. It will be used from 2024 in new generations of electric Rolls Royce cars.

2021 was the best year for Rolls Royce

Although the crisis has shaken the automotive industry in 2021, British Rolls-Royce does not seem to be concerned. What so ever, it seems that last year was very successful because they achieved the best result in the long history, when it comes to sales.

Rolls Royce, which has been owned by BMW for many years, announced that in 2021 it achieved sales growth of almost 50 percent compared to 2020. In 2021, the British company sold 5,586 cars.

And for 2022, expectations are high. According to statements from Rolls Royce, they managed to sell the planned production for the next nine months. For the second half of the year, the presentation of the new electric model Spectre EV is planned. The car is currently in the testing phase, and although it was announced Rolls Royce will not use the BMW platform, but its aluminum platform introduced in 2017, used by the Ghost and Cullinan models.

Armored Rolls-Royce Cullinan

The Rolls-Royce Cullinan is definitely not a cheap SUV. However, those looking for a safer and more expensive version can contact Klassen for the armored Rolls-Royce Cullinan.

Klassen offers the CEN 1063 Level BR6 protection level for Cullinan including a unique folding system integrated into all door seals. The ceiling and floor were also reinforced to be able to withstand the simultaneous explosion of two DM51 hand grenades.

The luxury SUV also got multi-layer bulletproof glass, battery protection and an electronic control module. There are also reinforced suspension, reinforced door supports and other critical structural points, and a system that allows the vehicle to move even in the event of a tire puncture.

The interior contains exclusive high quality materials. Klassen offers customers a large selection of modifications while the exterior is mostly still true to the standard model. This is important so that the Cullinan does not attract unwanted attention, but this is difficult to do because it is a Rolls-Royce SUV.

The armored Cullinan is powered by a 6.75 liter V12 direct injection engine with 563 hp (414 kW) and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm) of torque. It reaches 60 mph in 5 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph (250 km / h).

Klassen’s armored Cullinan costs more than $ 950,000 (€ 830,000). That’s a lot of money, but you also get a lot, especially when it comes to high-level protection and security.
