The fifth generation Supra is currently only offered with the ZF 8-speed automatic transmission. However, it has long been rumored that the Toyota Supra will be available in combination with a manual transmission, which the latest information confirms.
This news should delight fans of traditional solutions who do not want a fast Japanese two-seater with automatic transmission. According to some predictions, a 6-speed manual transmission will be offered in the Supra with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo petrol engine. This could be expected if we consider that BMW offers the same gearbox with the Z4 model that uses the same engine.
Toyota will soon present a special edition Supra GRMN powered by a BMW M3 / M4 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine with 473 hp (348 kW) and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) of torque, and a more powerful version with 503 hp (370 kW) ) and 479 lb-ft (659 Nm) of torque.
