Mitsuoka Viewt

The small Japanese car company Mitsuoka, founded in 1968, specializes in odd-looking cars inspired by classic models. Their latest work is the Mitsuoka Viewt.

Most of the Japanese company’s works are based on everyday cars, such as the Viewt, which is based on Nissan’s Micra/Mach, which has sold more than 13,000 units. However, the best work is considered to be the Orochi model based on the Honda NSX. This is not the only Toyota car that this company dealt with, before it there were Ryugi, Galue and Noera based on different versions of Corolla.

The modified Yaris received a classic front fascia with round lights and a large vertical grille, which was part of the British luxury sedan, Jaguar Mark 2, from the sixties. It is 70 mm longer than the car that served as inspiration (Jaguar Mark 2) and sits on small steel wheels with chrome covers. The car received round taillights to differentiate it from the previous three generations which also mimicked the look of the base model.

Inside, the car received new upholstery and paint, but the overall look is familiar. The Toyota badge on the steering wheel has been removed and replaced with a Mitsuoka badge.

When it comes to price, the Mitsuoka Viewt costs around $23,000. The most expensive model with hybrid technology and four-wheel drive costs $31,300.
