BMW M5 Competition and BMW M4 Competition in drag race

Modern BMW high-performance models are known for showing conservative figures on paper when it comes to their power, which means that they hide a lot of potential for increasing power through software solutions. However, the guys from the YouTube channel DragTimes showed what the tuned BMW M4 xDrive Competition and BMW M5 Competition can do in a drag race.

BMW M4 Competition is powered by a 3.0l inline-six engine with 620 hp (456 kW). Power is transmitted to all wheels via an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. This model has less power, but is lighter than its rivals.

The BMW M5 Competition is powered by a 4.4L twin-turbo V8 engine with 750 hp (552 kW). The standard model has 600 hp (441 kW), and the increase in power is achieved thanks to new software, a new exhaust system and new air intakes. Power is transmitted to all wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

When it comes to race results, the tuned BM M4 Competition covered the 1/4 mile in 10.826 seconds. When the tuned settings were off, the car was 0.5 seconds slower (11.305 seconds). In three races, the BMW M5 Competition set a best time of 10.898 seconds in the 1/4 mile.

It may surprise some that the more powerful BMW M5 didn’t set a faster time than the BMW M4 despite winning two of the three races in the head-to-head clash. What is the reason for that, see and judge for yourself.

Liberty Walk equipped the Lexus LX600 with wide body kit

After the recently revealed body kit for the legendary model of the car manufacturer from Maranello, Ferrari F40, this time the Japanese tuner Liberty Walk has prepared a body kit for the domestic brand, Lexus LX 600. The standard LX 600 is an impressive SUV, and now it is even more dominant.

As before, the tuner did not overdo it this time either, because the car was upgraded with only a few components. The Lexus LX 600 will be exhibited at the Tokyo Motor Show, and Liberty Walk has decided to reveal its work earlier.

At first glance, the attention is drawn to the carbon hood, which retains the same simple shape of the standard LX 600, but this time, air vents have been added on both sides. There is a set of specially made carbon wheel arch extensions as well as massive AME Wheels glossy black rims with Yokohama tires.

Of course there were no changes under the hood. The LX 600 is powered by a 3.5L twin-turbo V-6 engine with 409 hp (301 kW) and 479 lb-ft (650 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to all wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Liberty Walk did not say how much the modifications will cost.

Mansory equipped the BMW X7 with a wider body kit

After the recent Mansory Vitesse based on the Bentley Continental GT, now from the workshop of the German tuner comes a modified version of the BMW X7. It is a customization program that brings superior power and luxurious comfort to this model.

The car is equipped with a new smaller front grill under which there are small additional air intakes, as well as a significantly modified front bumper with larger openings. At the back is a wider bumper that continues the aggressive profile line, a diffuser with a new black detail, as well as four tailpipes. The rear of the luxury SUV does not indicate any changes.

Mansory does not reveal whether the new package can be used for the older and refreshed version of the X7 model. There is a possibility that the tuner is actually offering a conversion, that is, a return to the old design in response to the criticism received by the refreshed model due to the split headlights.

Behind the wider wheel arches are massive 24-inch rims, which Mansory will offer in 11 different models and different sizes. The X7 in the photos is wearing the maximum size 24-inch multi-spoke rims.
