The E-One Vector is an all-electric fire truck

The development of electric vehicles is expanding, so countries are working hard to replace existing ICE vehicles with electric ones, which are used not only for short-distance transport but also for other purposes. Such is the case with the E-One Vector all-electric fire truck assigned to firefighters in the city of Mesa, Arizona.

The truck is a product of the E-One company, and is the first all-electric North American-style fire truck in Arizona. This is part of the City of Mesa’s plan to become carbon neutral by mid-century.

There aren’t many details about the truck. What is known is that it is equipped with a battery that allows four hours of operation with one charge, and that it has a pump that is able to pump out 2,839 liters of water per minute through four hoses. The truck has an 800-volt architecture, and is equipped with several batteries with a capacity of 327 kWh. It will be stationed in Fire Station 211, and the building has a charger that can charge the battery in three and a half hours.

It should also be noted that the truck can be equipped with a diesel engine for a longer range, which is useful in situations of longer operations. The engine starts automatically and charges the batteries when they are almost empty.

When it comes to the price, the city paid 1.4 million dollars (1.3 million euros) for the truck, and it should be noted that its purchase is planned in 2018.

Manhart MH5 900 based on the BMW 5 Series

German tuner Manhart is a master of improving the performance of German brands, especially BMW models. Their latest work is the Manhart MH5 900 based on the BMW 5 Series.

The MH5 900 is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 engine with 928 hp (692 kW) and 915 lb-ft (1,240 Nm) of torque. A significant increase in power has been achieved by the remapped ECU, compared to the standard BMW 5 which has 625 hp (466 kW) and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a strengthened and recalibrated 8-speed automatic transmission. It is mounted on Concave One in Silk Matt Black 21″ wheels wrapped in 275/30ZR21 front and 295/30ZR21 rear high-performance tires.

The car is finished in blue with two golden stripes on the sides. It is equipped with in-house aerodynamic and stylish carbon fiber parts such as the front spoiler, the kidney-shaped radiator grille, a two-part front apron insert and a pair of canards on the front apron, carbon bonnet in CS style, two-piece side skirts and side inserts, two-part roof spoiler above the rear windscreen, rear spoiler, rear diffuser, and exterior mirror caps.

Inside, the carbon fiber basket seats are upholstered in brown leather while the headlining was refined with soft Alcantara. There are matching floor mats and Alkantara roof, the interior is completed by MANHART Dataview display and sky roof.

Better handling and agility are ensured by coilover springs by KW Suspensions, while the optionally available MANHART coilover suspension Variant 4 from KW suspension guarantees even more driving dynamics. For safe braking and stopping, the powerful and stable carbon-ceramic brake system from the M5 has been retained.
