While we wait for Mercedes to unveil the redesigned C-Class, the German manufacturer’s most powerful station wagon has arrived on the market. It’s the Mercedes-AMG E53 hybrid with 612 hp.

The new Mercedes-AMG E53 is powered by a 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder biturbo engine with 449 hp and 560 Nm of torque combined with an electric motor with a total power of 612 hp and 750 Nm of torque. Power is sent to all wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission.
It is equipped with batteries with a usable capacity of 21.2 kWh located under the trunk floor, which allow an electric range of up to 97 kilometers. It reaches 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and with the optional AMG Dynamic Plus package a top speed of 275 km/h.
The successor to the E63 model boasts the same power, but also significantly lower average fuel consumption.
The new, most powerful E-Class estate version is Mercedes’ answer to current offerings like the Audi RS6 Avant and BMW M5 Touring.
