A few days ago there was news that Audi is considering the production of a pickup. This was confirmed by Audi director Markus Duesmann, who said that they are seriously considering it. He also said that we could soon see something similar to a pickup.
The development of the new platform would be too expensive for Audi, so it is assumed that in this case they could borrow the T6 platform as a basis for further vehicle development. This platform is used by the VW Amarok model which will be powered by a V6 TDI, and depending on the market, other engines will be on offer as well. This means that the pickup would probably get more luxurious materials and improved technology in the interior, while the exterior would be adorned with the standard Audi logo.
Some rumors say it could also be one of the platforms used by electric vehicles from the Volkswagen Group. Would that mean that the vehicle will be aimed primarily at the American market? If so, then the Ford F-150 Lightning, Tesla Cybertruck and GMC Hummer EV would get a serious competitor.
