1960 Porsche 356B Cabriolet is for sale

In 1948, the Austrian company Porsche Konstruktionen GesmbH unveiled the Porsche 356, which the Austrian company produced until 1949, when it was taken over by the German Dr. Ing. h. c. F. Porsche GmbH. The 356 was built in four distinct series (the original “pre-A”, 356 A, 356 B, and 356 C). In 1959, the Porsche 356 B (T5 body type) arrived on the market with a cabriolet body and an optional steel cabriolet hardtop welded in place. It was produced until 1963 and one of them, the 1960 Porsche 356B Cabriolet, is for sale.

The 356B Cabriolet is powered by an air-cooled 1.6L flat-four engine with 75 hp (55 kW) and 88 lb-ft (119 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual gearbox. It sits on chrome 15″ ventilated steel wheels wrapped in 175/65 Dunlop SP37 A/S tires.

This car is finished in gray (original Aetna Blue) and is in good condition. It is equipped with a black convertible top, bullet-style front indicators, a single decklid grille, a chrome left-side mirror, a reverse light, and body-color bumpers with chrome overriders and integrated exhaust outlets at the rear.

Inside, the seats are covered in red vinyl that also covers the door panels. In front of the driver is a three-spoke steering wheel, an instrument panel and a five-digit odometer showing 18,752 miles (actual mileage is unknown). Additional equipment includes salt-and-pepper carpeting with red trim along with front lap belts, a locking glove compartment, a rearview mirror, and a push-button AM/FM radio.

The car comes with a clean Illinois title in the current owner’s name.
The auction ends on March 2nd and the current highest bid is $50,000 USD.
