At the 1993 IAA Frankfurt Motor Show Porsche premiered the new generation of its most popular car (model 911), the Porsche 993. It was the final incarnation of the air-cooled 911, which many enthusiasts and collectors consider to be the best. It was produced until 1998, and in 1996 a version with a new suspension and reinforced chassis due to better engine management and exhaust design was presented. One of them, a 1997 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Coupe, is up for sale.
The 911 Carrera 4S Coupe is powered by an air-cooled 3.6L flat-six engine with 282 hp (210 kW) and 250 lb-ft (340 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to all wheels via a 6-speed manual transaxle with a limited-slip differential. It reaches 60 mph in 5.2 seconds with a top speed of 168 mph (270 km/h). It is mounted on 18″ Turbo Twist wheels wrapped in 225/40 (front) and 285/30 (rear) Michelin Pilot Sport tires.
This car is finished in Glacier White and is in good condition. Compared to the standard Carrera, it has a wider rear section. It is equipped with headlight washers, fog lights, heated power-adjustable mirrors, black rear bumperettes, a speed-activated rear spoiler, dual exhaust outlets and an electric sunroof.
Inside, the seats are upholstered in black leather, which can also be seen on the dashboard and door panels. The steering wheel is also wrapped in black leather. Additional equipment includes cruise control, air conditioning, and a CDR-210 stereo. The clock reads 128,205 miles.
The car has a clean Carfax report that shows no accidents or other damage. It comes with manufacturer’s literature and accessories and a clean California title.
The auction ends on December 12th and the current highest bid is $80,000 USD.
