1998 Lamborghini Diablo SV Roadster up for auction

1998 Lamborghini Diablo SV Roadster up for auction

In 1998, Lamborghini started building a special car, the Diablo SV Roadster. It was a combination of the Diablo SV in the configuration of the Diablo VT Roadster, and the manufacturer planned to produce only 20 examples. However, due to the financial turmoil faced by the company as well as the lack of interest in such a variant, Lamborghini stopped the project. Only two units of this car were produced, making it the rarest series-production Lamborghini ever. One of them was offered at auction.

This Diablo SV Roadster is powered by a 5.7L V12 engine with 530 hp (395 kW) and 445 lb-ft (605 Nm) of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission.

The car is finished in the striking combination of Roadster Giallo over Nero “Torpedo” Alcantara. It is equipped with a removable roof, rear wing, side air intake blades, electronic suspension lifting system, and 355-millimeter brake discs at each corner. Front bumper, alloy wheels, side decals and interior are from SV coupé. The central console and sills are made of carbon fiber. It has only 42,842 kilometers on the odometer.

The Lamborghini Diablo SV Roadster was offered at RM Sotheby’s Sealed Auction on December 15, 2023.
