Mercedes AMG SL63 S E Performance hits 62 mph in 2.9 seconds

The Mercedes AMG SL63 S E Performance is one of the most powerful Mercedes AMG cars, but also the most powerful SL model. It is a sporty 2+2 Roadster that attracts attention wherever it appears not only with its design but also with the sound of the engine like an enraged beast.

The car is powered by a 4-liter V8 biturbo engine combined with an electric motor (204 hp), on the rear axle, with a total power of 816 hp (608 kW) and 1,047 lb-ft (1,420 Nm) of torque. That’s enough to push the powerful car from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.9 seconds with a top speed of 317 km/h (197 mph). Behind the cover on the rear bumper hides the connection for charging the 6.1 kWh battery, which ensures a range of 13 kilometers.

The AMG SL63 S E Performance features a fabric folding roof whose active aerodynamics, along with an adaptive suspension and mechanical limited-slip differential, are tuned to ensure superior handling. There is also a steering system (i) via the rear axle, eight work programs and adaptive integral drive (4Matic+). It sits on 20-inch aluminum wheels wrapped in 265/40 front and 295/35 rear Michelin tires. It is equipped with carbon-ceramic brakes with 420mm front and 380mm rear discs.

And while AMG still claims that they made no mistake when they made the decision that the new generation C-Class (C63) will be powered by a 2.0L four-cylinder hybrid, many potential buyers have turned to other car companies. However, everything remained the same with the SL.
