2023 Porsche LMDh prototype

When Porsche introduced the Mission R concept a few months ago, it was sensational. Today, Porsche began talking about the LMDh prototype it will develop in collaboration with Multimatic, which should debut in 2023.

According to Thomas Laudenbach, Director of Motorsport Electrical Powertrain and Electrics, Porsche will begin intensive testing of this prototype in early 2022. The 670 hp (493 kW) hybrid racing car is scheduled to complete numerous test runs in 2022. So far, only a few pictures have been published without any information about the car.

The pictures show a large rear wing with LED lights on the sides, an LED light bar, large wheel arches and Michelin Pilot Sport tires. Drivers will be Dane Cameron (IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship DPi Champion in 2016 and 2019) and Felipe Nasr (29-year-old ex-Formula 1 driver from Brazil).

Currently, Porsche is focused on teams using the 911 GT3 R model, as well as on the entry of four more versions of the 500+ PS nine-eleven to the European endurance classics on the Nürburgring and Spa-Francorchamps.

The Porsche GT3 R is powered by a water-cooled 4.0-liter flat-six engine with a max. 550 hp (405 kW) depending on the FIA ​​BoP. The engine is paired with a sequential six-speed gearbox.
