Audi will stop production at certain plants

After Porsche, which announced earlier this month that it was temporarily suspending production at some of its plants, Audi has now done the same. According to Automobilwoche, Audi has informed dealers that it will stop production at certain plants. The letter did not specify how long the termination would last, but said the suspension would last “days or weeks.”

Earlier this month, Volkswagen announced that it was suspending production in Dresden and Zwickau, due to problems with the supply of electronic parts from Ukraine, where the company owns two factors. Audi, which is part of the VW Group, also has a problem with the delivery of parts from Ukraine, primarily cable harnesses.

Audi is currently working on several new models, primarily electric, and this decision could affect the timing of their presentation. It could also lead to long waiting lists especially for the A4, A5, A6, A7, TT, Q7 and Q8 models, which was confirmed by the company saying that dealers should be prepared for “significantly longer delivery times.”

According to information from Audi, production of the e-tron GT and R8 will continue from March 28, while production of the A4 and A5 will take place at a reduced capacity from April 4, when production of the A6 and A7 should begin.
