After the delivery of Tesla’s Cybertruck began at the end of 2023, the company announced that it will soon launch a new compact electric crossover, the Tesla Redwood.
This information coincides with comments from Tesla boss Elon Musk last year, who said at a shareholder meeting that the company was working on two new electric models. He also said that these models will be far ahead of the competition, as well as what the automotive industry is offering at this time.
It is estimated that Tesla will produce 10,000 cars a week, and requests to suppliers related to the new model were sent last year. When it comes to production, the first examples of the Tesla Redwood should leave the production lines in mid-2025. By then we should have more information on this car.
The current Cybertruck will be offered in three powertrain versions. The most powerful is the Cyberbeast, which will be powered by three electric motors with a total power of 845 hp (630 kW) and 10,296 lb-ft (13,960 Nm) of torque. It will reach 60 mph in 2.6 seconds with a top speed of 210 km/h (130 mph).
The entry-level version will be powered by a single engine and will have rear-wheel drive. It will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in about 9.6 seconds, and will have a range of 402 kilometers. This model will hit the market in 2025 and will cost $60,990.
The third version will have all-wheel drive, 600 hp (447 kW) and 13,667 lb-ft (10,080 Nm) of torque. It will reach 60 mph (100 km/h) in 4.1 seconds with a top speed of 180 km/h (112 mph). The Cybertruck can tow 11,000 lbs (just under five tons) and have a payload capacity of about 1,134 kg of cargo, and will have a range of 340 miles (547 kilometers).
