A unique Rolls-Royce Arcadia Droptail

The Rolls-Royce Arcadia Droptail is a new car in the fleet of the British luxury car manufacturer. It is a unique example built according to the order and wishes of a wealthy customer.

The car is finished in a special shade of white with particles of aluminum and glass, creating a special sparkling effect. The lower body parts are made of carbon fiber in silver, a first for a Rolls-Royce Droptail. There is also a black hood and a removable roof. When it comes to the powertrain, under the hood is a 6.6-liter V12 engine with 593 hp (442 kW).

This is the third of four ultra-luxury Droptail examples, and the interior is decorated with 233 wood inserts, 76 of which are mounted above the trunk. That is why Rolls-Royce produced a solid carbon fiber base, and the design and finishing of the wooden surfaces took more than 8,000 hours.

The car is equipped with the most sophisticated analog clock ever installed in a Rolls-Royce model. The design and construction of this fascinating watch took five months, and the watch consists of 119 parts representing 119 years of the British brand’s existence. Although the price has not been officially announced, experts believe that the buyer spent around 30 million US dollars.

BMW started production of the new Series 5 Touring

Last month, BMW revealed the new generation i5 Touring and Series 5 Touring, and now it has been announced that the Bavarian manufacturer has started production of this model at its plant in Dingolfing.

“Our BMW 5 Series Touring is particularly important for the German, but also the European market, and many customers have been waiting impatiently for it. But at the end of May, the wait will come to an end, because then the new Touring, now in its sixth generation, will be delivered to the first customers “, said factory director Christoph Schröder.

Diesel and fully electric versions are currently in production, while gasoline and plug-in hybrid versions will arrive later. The price of the BMW Series 5 Touring in Germany starts at 61,750 euros, while the i5 Touring model starts at 101,500 euros.

The Dingolfing plant was the only plant where the BMW 5 Series Touring was produced, with more than 1.2 million units produced, since the beginning of the 90s. Other series, BMW 4, BMW 5 and BMW 6 sedans are also produced in this plant. In the meantime, BMW invested 80 million in the plant to continue the production of the new generation of this model, and this turned out to be a good move because a third of the cars produced in this plant was from the Series 5. Also, BMW’s expectations are much higher and the company hopes that the new generation Series 5 and i5 Touring will make up the majority of cars produced in Dingolfing.
