Jaguar F-Type ZP Edition

Jaguar will soon end the production of sports cars powered by an internal combustion engine, and to end a long story, the British manufacturer has presented a limited edition of the F-Type sports model, the Jaguar F-Type ZP Edition.

The car will be offered with two special body colors (blue and gray) with which Jaguar once again pays tribute to the legendary E-Type, which is still considered one of the most beautiful cars of all time. A total of 150 examples of the F-Type ZP Edition will be produced in both Coupé and Cabriolet body styles.

Jaguar F-Type ZP Edition will be powered by a 5.0L V8 engine with 575 hp (423 kW) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque. That’s enough power to push the car to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph). Power is sent to all wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. It is mounted on specially made 20-inch aluminum wheels.

Each car will have plates (One of 150) placed on the lower part of the fenders, door sills and in the cabin, which is lined with premium materials.

When it comes to price, it is currently unknown how much this limited edition will cost.

How China Subsidizes Electric Car Manufacturers?

Last month, the EU launched an investigation into the privileged position of electric cars made in China due to subsidies. This does not only apply to Chinese manufacturers, but to all electric cars produced in China that are exported to the European market. Following this case, the New York Times revealed that China subsidizes the Nio with 32,000 euros per car.

In 2020, Nio was facing bankruptcy. The Chinese government gave about one billion euros to save the company, but it was not just financial support, because with that money the government bought a 24 percent stake in the company. After that, there was another financial injection from an unnamed state banking house in the amount of 1.5 billion euros.

In addition to government support, Chinese car manufacturers have another big advantage in terms of low prices compared to manufacturers from Europe and the US, and that is the lower cost of labor. A manufacturing worker there earns about a third of what an American or European auto worker earns annually. Also, Reuters recently wrote about an unnamed employee of the Changan Automobile Factory in Che-fei, who experienced a reduction in income and left his job in July, because his salary in May and June was only four thousand yuan a month (about 512 euros), instead of 900 euros as he expected.

When it comes to other electric car manufacturers, BYD is the largest Chinese electric car manufacturer, and in the first six months of this year, it made a profit of 1.35 billion euros. Some data show that the BYD Seal could be produced 35% cheaper than the Volkswagen ID.3, which, thanks to the technology, is another advantage of the Chinese manufacturer.

Restomod Porsche 964 costs 1.14 million euros

There are many well-known tuners specialized in upgrading sports cars, especially Porsche models, and one of those not so well-known, Fogline Industries, presented its latest work based on the Porsche 964.

Fogline Industries is an American company whose work is signed by engineer Allen Bischofberger, more expensive than similar creations from Singer, Theon Design, Paul Stephens or Gunter Werks. It is equipped with a new titanium exhaust system, carbon components thanks to which it weighs only 1,220 kg, Brembo brakes and adjustable suspension, front bumper with openings, oil cooler and six-piston calipers.

Inside, the Recaro seats are trimmed in blue leather by DJ Interiors Custom, which also covers the door panels and dashboard as well as the three-spoke Sparco steering wheel. There are also redesigned analog instruments as well as a small multimedia display compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay applications.

Under the hood is an air-cooled 4.0L six-cylinder boxer with 425 hp (312 kW) at 7,800 rpm, which sounds really powerful. The car is mounted on 18″ ultralight wheels wrapped in 265 mm (front) and 305 mm (rear) tires.

When it comes to price, Fogline Industries is asking 1.14 million euros for this restomod.
