Suzuki produced 80 million cars

In 1955, a Japanese multinational mobility manufacturer, Suzuki Motor Corporation, was founded. In the same year, its first car (Suzulight) arrived on the market, and just 68 years later, the company based in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka, announced that it had produced 80 million cars.

Suzuki Suzulight

The brand’s first compact model, called the Fronte 800, debuted in 1965. However, Suzuki’s most successful model is the Suzuki Alto, which was first launched in 1979. Alto represents 20% or one fifth of the brand’s total sales from the beginning to this day.

Suzuki owns 15 factories around the world, and the first factory outside of Japan was opened in Pakistan in 1975. Then, the company started production in a factory in India, which was put into operation in 1983. When it comes to Europe, Suzuki cars are assembled in a factory in Hungary .

By August 2023, 28.7 million Suzuki cars were sold in Japan (36% of total sales), while 51.3 million cars were sold in the rest of the world. The largest market after Japan was India (32.6% of cars sold), while the rest of Asia accounted for 13.5%. Suzuki is less popular in Europe, so total sales are only 10%. The lowest demand was in Latin America, Oceania, the Middle East and Africa (7.8 percent).

2024 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E-Performance

Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E-Performance is the first car to be launched under Mercedes‘ new E Performance brand and the most powerful production vehicle that Mercedes-AMG has ever produced. Now, the company has introduced a refreshed version of its super sports four-door model.

When it comes to the powertrain, there have been no changes. The GT 63 S E-Performance is still powered by a 4-liter biturbo V8 engine combined with a single electric motor for a total output of 843 hp (620 kW) and 1,033 lb-ft (1,400 Nm) of torque. Power is sent to all wheels via a 9-speed Speedshift MCT automatic transmission. It reaches 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.9 seconds with a top speed of 316 km/h (196 mph).

The new version brings certain design changes such as a new larger radiator grille located between the adaptive LED lights, which in shape resembles the solution that comes with the recently presented new generation AMG GT Coupé. There are also air vents in the front bumper. There is also a wide palette of body colors on offer, such as white metallic, and the list of optional equipment includes the AMG aerodynamic package, two versions of the AMG Night package, the AMG carbon package and the AMG chrome package.

Inside, an electrically operated glass sunroof and wireless charging pad for rear-seat passengers are now standard equipment, as is a premium Burmester audio system and upgraded MBUX multimedia system software with AMG’s additional tuning options. AMG Performance seats are optional.

When it comes to price, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E-Performance costs 207,709 euros in Germany.

Hyundai electric cars will use Tesla Supercharger charging stations

Tesla is the largest investor in electric vehicle infrastructure and the owner of 50,000 Supercharger charging stations that can also be used by other electric cars. After General Motors, Honda, Jaguar, Nissan and Volvo, now owners of Hyundai electric cars that have adopted the NACS charging standards can use these charging stations.

The Hyundai Group also announces that Hyundai, Kia and Genesis electric models will be equipped with NACS connectors that are compatible with Tesla charging stations, and that from 2024 they will be able to charge at them throughout North America.

By the end of next year, the Korean group claims that all models sold in North America will be equipped with NACS connectors. Also, from 2025, all other owners who already have an electric model of one of the Korean brands equipped with a CCS connection, will be able to order a special adapter, so that they can use Tesla chargers.

Tesla is the largest manufacturer of electric cars in the world and recently announced that it produced its 5 millionth car. The growth of production started three years ago when in just 18 months Tesla exceeded the production of two million vehicles, three million in just 11 months, and four million seven months later. All this was achieved thanks to the large capacities of Tesla’s factories, but also to the great demand. At the beginning of July, the company announced that it had built the first Cybertruck in Giga Texas and that it had received more than 1.9 million orders.
