Aston Martin Bulldog

The DeLoreana DMC-12 became planetarily popular thanks to the movie “Back to the Future.” But another car was an alternative to the DeLorean and was to appear as a vehicle that Marty McFly and Emmett Brown would use in the film. It’s an Aston Martin Bulldog.

The Aston Martin Bulldog was created 43 years ago and fits perfectly into current concepts. The car has been completely restored and was presented at this year’s Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este exhibition where it won the Coppa d’Oro award. The most attention was drawn to the massive gullwing door, while its interior is adorned with brown leather and a new digital cluster.

The 1979 model is powered by a 5.3L twin-turbocharged V8 engine with 600 hp (441 kW) and 500 lb-ft (678 Nm) of torque. At one time it was one of the fastest production cars in the world. Reaches 62 mph in 4.1 seconds with a top speed of 162 mph (261 km / h), although the fastest speed the car was recorded doing 191 mph (307 km / h) during a test run at the Motor Industry Research Association track in late 1979.

The Bulldog is owned by collector Phillip Sarofim and restored by the British company Classic Motor Cars.

700 CL-X Sport

For several years now, the Chinese motorcycle manufacturer CF MOTO has been trying to conquer the domestic and global market with its affordable street bikes. Thanks to good positioning but also connections with some of the leading brands in the industry such as KTM, CF MOTO is always one step ahead of other domestic manufacturers, not only in terms of build quality and performance, but also in terms of style. Such is the case with the latest model 700 CL-X Sport.

Following the recent introduction of the mid-weight adventure motorcycle, the 800MT, which uses KTM’s 800cc engine, the Chinese motorcycle manufacturer has prepared the most sporty 700 CL-X Sport model for the European market.

The 700 CL-X Sport is powered by a 693 cc twin engine with electronic fuel injection and four valves per cylinder. The engine power is 70 hp, which adequately classifies it in the class of medium-weight motorcycles currently led by Yamaha models MT-07 and XSR700. However, what sets the 700 CL-X apart from the competition are the premium components, such as equipped Brembo brakes and fully adjustable suspension, cruise control, self-deactivating turn signals and driving mode selection, traction control and ABS.

With an affordable price (around € 7,000), the 700 CL-X Sport will certainly be a good alternative for those willing to spend less money, as its competition like the KTM 890 Duke and Triumph Street Triple 765 costs much more.

Maserati MC20 Cielo

In 2020, Maserati introduced the MX20 coupe and now the long-awaited convertible called the MC20 Cielo has been unveiled. The cars represent the next iteration of Maserati’s new supercar, and hopefully it won’t be the last.

At first glance, the MC20 Cielo is not much different from the MX20. The stylized rear vents were removed and replaced with a matte sticker, and Maserati also had to relocate the engine air intakes although the coupe door design was retained. There is also more space for a folding roof. Some improvements that are part of the 2023 MC20 coupe are also presented, such as details in the interior, but also additional safety technologies. These include an automatic emergency braking system, a traffic sign recognition system and a 360 camera.

The MC20 will be powered by a 3.0-liter Nettuno V6 engine, which also powers the MC20 Coupe, with 621 hp (457 kW) and 538 lb-ft (730 Nm) of torque. The engine is paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. It will reach 62 mph in about 3 seconds which is almost the same as the MC20 Coupe reaching the same speed in 3.2 seconds. The company claims that the top speed that this supercar can reach is 199 mph (320 km / h).

Maserati offers three variants of carbon monocoque chassis for each of its models. The Coupe chassis is made with a focus on weight and performance, while the design of the Cielo monocoque chassis is focused on greater rigidity, so the MC20 Cielo is 65 kg heavier than the MC20 coupe. The car is equipped with a folding roof that can be folded in 12 seconds, and which contains a chromatic glass panel that instantly turns from transparent to opaque thanks to liquid crystals (PDLC). Maserati claims that this is the largest glass panel in the segment. There are also new “double X” design rims, as well as carbon rims that are 30 kg lighter.

Also, the limited PrimaSerie Launch Edition in Aquamarine body color will be presented soon. The interior will be upholstered in Alcantara and light leather. The car will be decorated with PrimaSerie inscription on the headrests, but also on matte black 20-inch wheels, with markings that have a specific finish. Only 60 copies of this car will be produced.
