BMW M850i

German tuner AC Schnitzer presented the traditional “police car” as part of the “Tune It! Safe!” campaign. It is a tuned BMW M850i.

Since 2005, the German Car Tuner Association has launched a campaign to show that touring cars can be safe. AC Schnitzer has introduced a touring “police car” based on the BMW 8 Series Coupe with M850i specifications.

Modifications start with a Foliatec full-body wrap in police colors, and there are blue lights on the roof and in the front bumper. There is even a police radio inside. The focus is of course on tuning, and this car has been significantly modified. These modifications range from a body kit to an improved exhaust system with four end carbon tubes.

AC Schnitzer lowered the high-performance coupe with new springs. The car also got new 21-inch matte wheels. The body is made of carbon fiber, the interior features aluminum details such as pedals, footrests, gear shift paddles, as well as details around the infotainment system.

The 4.4-liter V8 engine that develops 523 hp and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque has been tuned, so its power has now been increased to 618 hp and 627 lb-ft (840 Nm) of torque. This makes it 5 hp weaker compared to the M8 Competition.

There is no more information about the performance yet. The standard M8 Competition Coupe is known to accelerate from 0-60 mph in just over 3 seconds before reaching a top speed of 190 mph.
