BMW M3 Touring

For a long time, the Bavarian company resisted the idea of offering the most powerful BMW M3 in a more practical Touring version. By the way, Audi and Mercedes-Benz are already offering station wagon versions of their most powerful models as competitors to the BMW M3.

More than three decades after the introduction of the first BMW M3, and following the concept of the E46 Series, BMW has finally changed its stance. Thus, potential buyers of the current BMW M3 will soon be able to choose the Touring station wagon version.

The BMW M3 station wagon has entered the final testing phase. It has not been officially confirmed yet, but rumors say that the Touring version will be offered with an adaptive drive (xDrive) as standard. This would mean that the new BMW M3 Touring will use the same solution that the M department offered for the first time with the current BMW M5.

The M3 Touring will be powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine with 480 hp (353 kW), in the standard version. The more powerful model will have more horsepower, more precisely 510 hp (375 kW). The M3 and Coupé M4 use the same engine. The engine will be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission that will transmit power to all wheels.

The latest information says that the first production BMW M3 Touring could be available to customers in Europe from the second half of 2022.
