The 2008 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster is up for auction

Auction house “Bring a Trailer” announced the sale of the 2008 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster. It is an icon of the automotive industry, which when it was new cost $ 495,000. Now it is more and more popular among collectors, so its price is growing day by day.

It is painted in Crystal Laurite Silver metallic color. It was bought as new in 2008. It has had several owners so far, and the current owner from Connecticut bought it in 2018. The car is in excellent condition with 3,700 miles (5,954 kilometers) on the odometer. It comes with complete documentation, two keys and a Carfax report.

Inside, there are sports seats in different sizes, XXL (driver) and XL (co-driver), with carbon backrest. The interior is adorned with Silver Arrow leather and numerous carbon details.

The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren is powered by a 5.4-liter supercharged V8 engine with 617 hp (454 kW) and 575 lb-ft (780 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic transmission. It reaches 62 mph in 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 208 mph (334 km / h). It is mounted on 19-inch silver rims wrapped in 255/35 (front) and 295/30 (rear) Pirelli Sottozero tires.

Juan Manuel Fangio’s 1958 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster is up for auction

RM Sotheby’s announced the sale of the 1958 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster. It is the personal car of one of the best drivers of all time, Juan Manuel Fangio. The Argentine was a five-time Formula 1 world champion with four different teams (Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz, and Maserati), which no one after him managed to achieve.

After announcing his retirement, Mercedes gave Fangio a 300SL Roadster as a gift. The car was driven until 1986 when it was sent to his museum. It is in original condition. Seats, steering wheel, gear lever, etc., nothing has changed, which collectors know to appreciate.

It is one of Fangio’s favorite cars, as evidenced by the fact that it has more than 70,000 km on the odometer. It has been driven in Europe and South America. It is painted in a light blue metallic color reminiscent of the color of the Argentine flag. Inside, the door panels and seats are upholstered in white leather.

The auction of this unique car will take place between February 28 and March 4. It is interesting that the car will be sold in a sealed bid auction, and the final price will not be announced.

Ferrari 365 GTC / 4 by Pininfarina sold for 201,250 EUR

From 1971 to 1972, Ferrari produced a limited number of Ferrari 365 GTC / 4 by Pininfarina models, one of which was recently sold at auction for just over € 200,000. This is one of 500 examples produced in total.

Ferrari 365 GTC / 4 by Pininfarina, with aggressive Ferrari styling, is painted in Blu Ortis color. It is in good condition and is equipped with a slightly elongated chassis to accommodate four passengers, five-spoke wheels, power steering and power brakes. Inside, the seats are upholstered in Italian leather that can be seen on the dashboard and steering wheel. All parts are original.

Under the hood is a 4.4-liter Colombo V12 engine with 335 hp (250 kW). Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission, and it has only 30,597 kilometers on the odometer.

The car was bought new in 1972, and so far has had only two owners. The first owner owned the car for 24 years, and in 1996 the car was bought by Mr. Petitjean. At the auction, the car reached a price of 201,250 EUR.
